First time I fought one on FL 4, complete cakewalk. Second time on FL 5 he almost wrecked me. All of a sudden it had an aoe and was doing what felt like 2x dmg.

These guys seem overtuned. Got wrecked by them trying to do a layer 7, switched to a layer 3 to be safe and just try to get a run done, got wrecked again. They have an uninterruptible attack that pulls you in and slows you, and then they do an uninterruptible spin attack that does a ton of damage and you just have to run to avoid the damage. Which can then lead you to pull other packs or elites.

Just had an L8 Twisting Corridors run on floor 13 get ruined by this guy.

Lord of Locks is essentially the Berserker Kyle at The Jailer's house parties.

This guy is a royal pain. Definitely over charged even on L3s.
Some Pally stuff works, but cool downs are a killer.
Thinking of a strategy, but nothing I tried so far worked well.
It's bad enough when you run into one, but a couple places have 2 near each other, and you have no choice but to go through them.
Can you stun them, yep. But it doesn't come up fast enough to help in the long run.
Can you interrup the chain, yep.
Can you stop him when he spins, with stun, yep. But then you don't have it for a while.

HOLY POTATOES & SECOND BREAKFASTS what a pain this guy is.

We encountered him on lvl 6 skovald halls, after having not died the rest of it he handed our butts to us like we were lol trying out pvp for once in a lowbie battleground getting pasted flat by well heeled twinks. Serioiusly, with the chains we had ONE MOMENT not two to ditch or the aoe that follows during the stun eats you up, yum. I mean, soulshape and I got out, but his buddies were also around, ugh, blorch.

We quit Torghast rather than finish the run, I still had one life left so I got tower points anyway. Fine, we tried level 5.

Honestly I have no idea if it randomizes the boss you get, and we hoped we wouldn't get him, but we got a better pile of anima powers - my demon hunter pal and me on resto druid. I got... um, I don't remember the whole thing, but I definitely had 3 or 4 stacks of the "moonfire is so much better if it's only on one target", "i get less threat but more crit", 2 or 3 stracks of "you get more of <secondary based on your form>" in other words haste baby haste.

Also we didn't have his pals.

tick tick tick boom, almost down, more tick, down. wow. OMG WHEW. I mean, I wasn't wasting breaths I was setting my other dot and healing my pal with the instant HOTs only and punching with Wrath (haste, yesss.)

So - afaict - it's a DPS race, if you get chained more than once you're tomato paste. If you get chained while more than a couple foes are on you, probably paste. If you get chained while you lack mitigate for his AoE, you're paste. Maybe a gear-check, if your stats pile isn't up to his, you're paste... ah, but I had the secondary-stat anima cells. Hmm, hmm.

I don't know if any lesser levels lack the AoE from him, because my druid never tried anything less than what my tank qualified for til we backed off.

edit to add: tank mentioned he'd managed to collect some brutal debuffs somehow in the melees of the levels. Dunno if it was from this aoe, or other foes in the run, but missing out on 45% of his stamina cannot have made a healing job easier, or staying in one piece against this guy plus buddies a workable expectation.
