Out of range for taming and out of pulling range too (unless I missed a spot). However, MM hunters ought to be able to reach it with ranged attacks to pull it into taming range and I was also able to climb a short distance up one of the archways to pull and tame as BM (didn't think of using MM until after the fact.

The arch-climbing trick might work on the other arches/side-of-same-arch, the route I took starts at 51.2, 78.8 (the southwest arch, for those without coordinates, and the right hand pillar facing inward towards the teleport). Looking due east there's a little double bar of masonry just above head height (hopefully tauren will fit); walk under this toward the tree. Facing the arch, hop onto the lower of the two ridges spiraling up the pillar. Then hop onto the second/upper. You might need to inch up the lower spiral and jump onto the lower end of the upper, wall climbing can be tricksy at times. Once on the second spiral, inch your way up and around until you're at the tip. Wait for the Ancient Skyfin to loop around and you should be able to reach with even a non-BM's ranged attack. Pull, tame, and enjoy! :-)

Found one in very much range of taming at the area around 54. 74

You have to jump up on the pillars, move up and disengage onto the set above and then its just a simple matter of moving on up and waiting for one to patrol near enough to shoot with a cobra shot and tame.

You don't have to do any fancy footwork at all to tame this Skyfin.

Go to 55.21,74.52 and hop up those two tiny "steps" to that orange bush, then turn to the right and run up the "ramp" wall-structure, and stay close to the actual wall. Near the top, I was able to fire a Cobra Shot and tame one, even as BM. :D

Easy tame as MM hunter, just go up on the slopes and wait for it to get in range. One shot to aggro, then tame.

I used gravitational reduction slippers after jumping onto a pillar. when the ray came close. i jumped, shot it once, and when I landed. Tamed

Tamed it today on my BM hunter. Climbed the stairs left of the teleportation beam at Triumvirates End, marked it with a skull, waited for it to come in range, shot it to aggro it, then tamed. Easy peasy!

First, you need to be phased by opening the first portal in Mac'aree to see this.
This spawns at 51.8, 69.3 on what looks like a 10-12 minute timer, there also seems to be another spawn on a different timer, and will path through 52,69 at ground level. It spawns at ground level and slowly starts its pathing loop, where it gains altitude, and will go out of normal range unless you are up on something a bit taller or are MM with increased range.

It took me a few times to figure out what folks on here were talking about since this guy seems to phase out of existence if you're in Triumvirate's End. So I ran around and found an alternative.

If you go to the stairwell leading towards the Ruins of Oronaar, there's a place on the top few stairs where the map will count you as being in the Ruins. Then you just wait for the Ray to fly directly towards you and it will be in range for any Hunter spec.
