Nice to see gj Blizzard
LEEETS GOOO omg im so excited for this coming back
Thematically, it's kinda boring. Functionally, this is just amazing. After the last past experience with RNG, I will take the option of choosing the right weapon with the right stats on it.
I'm not really sure why people are jumping to the conclusion that this means the gear from tokens will be covenant-themed instead of raid-themed. The article just says that the exchange will take place in covenant sanctums. It could mean that, but as far as I can tell there's nothing to actually indicate what the gear will look like and such.
Does this mean ML is coming back? No point in adding class usable tokens if all loot is personal.
I hope they give you mainhand & offhand combos instead of just one at a time. Getting a choice between a wand with no offhand or a staff was a no brainer
Okay I LOVE this change. I've gotten so many Weapons in Ny'alotha that were useless to me, but would've benefited a Guildy but they weren't the right type.
Nice changes.Though, I've played a dw 1h warrior every expansions cept the last two (Where I forgot how to use them.) I'm used to the loot issue with SMF and not bothered.
Yep, looks like Remornia is a pet now instead of a propper weapon transmog :(Pommel Jewel of RemorniaRemornia
Now... this is an interesting approach!, I like it!.
If these weapon tokens are tradeable I might actually get a dagger before the entire raid is on farm for a month this time! Assassin rogues rejoice!
Ehhhhhhhhhh I dunno about this. I suppose we'll wait and see how it shakes out.
Guaranteed weapon instead of going fishing for one . Good change on that round for sure .
As a transmog collector, I don't like it already. Also make it worth 200 gold or something like that.
It's a great change. Players wanted agency and choice in their gear choices every week and boy do we have it now. The Covenants are controversial to be sure but everything else about this xpac looks great.
I think whether weapon tokens result in a complete failure or a welcome change will depend heavily on the choices you receive in exchange the tokens. For example if your particular covenant only offers a single two-handed weapon with stats you don't benefit greatly from, I can see a lot of people changing covenants specifically to get the weapon they do want then switching back for the conduits and soulbinds they were using to raid. Fixing options across the board brings only a minor negative that is story-based as it would be quite strange for all four distinctly different covenants to offer the same weapons or four unique weapons that all have the exact same stats. If that ends up being the case, I believe the tokens should be reverted to the standard right-click to transform with an added option in loot spec to choose between one and two-handed weapons.
Honestly I think the success or failure will depend more on how these are split and how often they drop.I think splitting them on covenant makes the most sense if you are going to turn them in at yours. But if thats the case it also needs to be the same token for weapon/shield/offhand, not split between weapon and shield/offhand as described. Either that, or both weapon & shield/offhand items need to be able to drop separately, but I think not splitting them offers far more flexibility and control. But also these items need to drop from every boss. Might that mean that one lucky raid out there gets 20 drops on their first night and gears half their raid in weapons? Sure, that can happen, but realistically the drop percentages should lend it to being not too different from today. But with the advantage that you won't have a bunch of people upset when the rogue gets yet another dagger (after they already got 3) when everyone else is still waiting for their weapon drops.
I like the idea of never getting stuck with a wand on my casters, but I wish they'd let you convert the token on the spot. It isn't that big of a deal but it will be annoying to have to go back to your Sanctum to actually start using the weapon.
Finally a single step towards the good way, still missing a lot of things tho, Master Loot, Tier sets, Tier Bonuses, Deterministic gearing system that isn't lootbox dependant, but this is one small step in the good direction. For the crybabies complaining about not getting their weapon, news flash for you: YOU EXCHANGE THE TOKEN FOR THE RAID WEAPON, I don't know how difficult this thing can be to figure out, maybe none of you "waiting this since WotLK" have actually killed any boss in heroic ICC to earn their token and trade it for the item that, GUESS WHAT?, is the exact same thing that would've drop in the raid, but instead of getting a random cloth helm for your DK, you get a helm token that you can exchange for you BiS helm.Removed
