... I had no idea about that Chef's Hat trick.
Thanks for the cooking tip!
Thanks for the tip about the Chef's Hat! I remembered grinding Dalaran cooking awards, so I was able to use Altoholic to figure out which of my alts had enough to buy it. Now I'll just have to remember to use it when I cook.
Cool tip about the chef's hat. Just sucks that to use the hat you have to have Northrend Cooking 25 on each character that you want to use the item on. :/
/sad As Blizzard combines realms, or rather shrinks their footprint, in order to pinch every penny, the sense of community fades into the sunset.I miss my small home town. Too many foreigners in our realms already.
I too felt the lull at about 3 million. Happily, though, I remained stubborn and just waited it out. I'm really surprised at how often I use the longboi - I thought I was just getting it because I'm a collector, but I actually use it a lot, which I wasn't expecting! If you've saved a couple million and are feeling burnt out, I'd advise you to stick with it, at least until the pre-patch. There might be an unexpected goldmaking opportunity we don't know about yet, and you don't want to regret anything.
I also just finished all the cooking stuff the long way. I had no idea! Good find!
Just made a macro for the Cooking Profession using that toy (currently I have it as macro for a slice in the OPie addon :D )/cancelaura Cooking Speed/cast Cooking Fire; Cooking/use Chef's HatFeel free to modify at a will, especially on the mod conditionals. I use mod:alt (on pressing of the macro) to remove the hat (you only need it while cooking, not all day long, raiding and doing other stuff heh?).Once you get the hang of it it'll be easier, as every toon that opens the cooking profession (assuming all will be using the macro, that's why I use OPie) will automatically put the hat on.Edit: Just tested a thing: The hat remains on the character even after logging out, then back in. So it is a good thing the /cancelaura Cooking Speed line exists (or simply Right-Click off the buff).
That chef's hat bonus is so cool! Never knew that until you mentioned it. :-O I probably still won't go out of my way for it, since I want the LK mount more (and getting myself to do timewalking is another story, lol. Dang carrots on a stick!).I'm no where near getting the Longboi yet. I just hit my 1st 600k again after buying Shadowlands Epic Edition x 2 with gold turned into BNet balance a month ago (one for myself and one for my fiancee). And I spent most of that month finishing up stuff on my Main and leveling alts I wanted "ready" for Shadowlands (though haven't leveled the cloak and haven't gone for the Jaina mount yet). As of this week I am definitely working harder, but not at any break-neck speeds like I see many doing. My perspective is if I get it, great, if I don't, I'm richer for the experience gained that will just benefit me even more for the future. There are people who have been at this gold-making far longer than I have. I didn't start til May 19th. Then there are those who did not mind grinding out 10x dungeon runs per hour and doing every raid on every alt and cancel-scanning auctions full-time. I won't be cancel-scanning full-time, but I will be upping my raw gold game now that my alts are leveled. I am leaving the Longboi to chance, IF I even decide to get it. Like I said, nice to have, but not necessary. I'm thinking I'd rather have that liquid gold to spend on other things when Shadowlands releases. Like moving my alts from a low-pop realm I started on 11+ years ago to another realm that I have vetted more profitable and friendlier for them/me. Which, in that case, gold turned into BNet balance can buy happiness.
