I know that we all get really deep into our own feels, but to claim that no one asked for this, or waste of a villain, etc, looking like-minded individuals to help sell our point, but how often do we actually take an objective look at the facts? How many of us actually weigh our wants with the player base as a whole, and not just the vocal subset that agrees with us? How many of us consider that developing a game with this many players is incredibly difficult, especially considering that there is no way to do everything that every player wants. In many cases, a company has a playbook, or bible that guides the game down several expansions into the future. Ultimately, we just make our decision to like/dislike, play/leave, or vocalize/internalize.That being said, I am on the extreme end of alts (and only 3 120s), and there is no way that I should even consider trying to keep each one relevant to the current expansion, let alone patch. I also do not participate in high-end raiding or PVP, so having essences is actually a non-issue to me, to the point where I keep getting a message telling me I have open Essence slots because I only have the first one. My perspective, however, is that they built it into a UI, which to me, indicates that it should be somewhat utilized in similar ways to talents, mounts, transmog, and heirlooms.I don't really want to put all this effort into a system that could potentially be deprecated and irrelevant within the year, like with Artifacts. As my Shadowlands characters hit 60, are they still going to care about this? As I said, with the number of alts I play actively in the mid-levels, high levels, and not-quite 120 range, I would rather spend my time working on things that will still be there, like garrison upgrades/achievements, class hall mounts and armor sets, artifact weapon skins, and allied races (I have all but mechagnomes). In the end, they can't please everyone, and if you are in the mood to voice your opinion, please remember to be civil, as we are all in this together. ;)
Not sure why people would waste time trying to get essences when they're just going to get dumped like artifact weapons, azerite gear, <x>, etc. has. Blizz has done an amazing job at getting people frustrated and not wanting to play their games. This seems rather counterintuitive to their business model, if they even remember what that is. I do think they realize BfA has been a disaster in terms of revenue, their beloved time-played metric, etc. and will probably rush to get to Shadowlands asap. This explains no 8.3.5 - they are basically ready for people to forget about how bad the past year and a half has been.
Moving away from titanforging? WHO THE $%^& IS COMPLAINING ABOUT THIS? Why on earth would you complain about instead of receiving the usual $20 from grandma you find she gave you 40?
Essences are nothing like items. They are more like talents than items and we have all the talents unlocked right away... So why essences should not be unlocked too?Theirs reasoning against account wide essences is just wrong.
People discussing Shadowlands release date google Preach's shadowlands interview and what he thought about his discussion with Ion. He is expecting it late, late 2020 not even summer 2020. Honestly I doubt Shadowlands will even be 2020 i'm putting my money on 2021. Considering in November when asked they had absolutely no idea how nearly all their major features for Shadowlands worked people really need to limit their expectations and hunker down for a drought.edit: pretty sure this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oyTCovhobUs is the video in question.
Who the !@#$ would postpone or straight up vito a Greek cruise for an expansion release? Wow. Pun not intended.
As a returning player, I’m worried about essences (whatever they are). Is there no way for me to catch up? I just hit 120 a couple days ago, and this is quite worrying. I really hate to invest a lot of time in a game if I’m forever at a disadvantage.
