Keep it dark! It's a borderline horror game with plenty of talk about terrible things happening on Sanctuary. Make it more than talk.

Very interesting video. I like it dark, its diablo after all.
Wouldn't surprise me if that guy summoning Lilith is Inarius, as he does have a human form according to the books if I recall correctly.
The fact that the cinematic made me uncomfortable and squirm was amazing. It's everything I wanted to see.Wouldn't surprise me if that guy summoning Lilith is Inarius, as he does have a human form according to the books if I recall correctly.Unlikely since Inarius was the one who sealed her away in the first place. Then he got taken by Mephisto and has been getting tortured ever since.

But different than the summoning guy, maybe it's one of her children.
bunch of pseudo art garbage\r\rReally? I think is one of the best game trailers produced, with enough symbols and themes to create an apocalyptic image very fit for Sanctuary. And from a technical point of view was extremely well realized and detailed.
It was a bloody amazing Cinematic. My Spouse loved the heck out of it. I introduced her into Diablo 3 a couple years ago and she can't wait to play D4. She kept loving the mega sized Skin Cape lol
That guy who summons Lilith must be the nephalem. D4 plays 10 years after D3 so otherwise there is no explanation yet why the heck anyone would bother with demons and undead cause the nephalem would just slay them all. Or he is just stucked within an endless loop of greater rifts so he can't help humanity anymore.
This game should be horrific, terrifying, disturbing, and morbid without becoming a parody. \r\rThe first Diablo game was a perfect hack and slash occult horror game. Great atmosphere, music score is still a classic, great level design, everything you could want. Diablo II was good but a step down from I when it came to the atmosphere, specifically because of outdoor zones, instead of everything being underground. Diablo III had good gameplay but it felt like a Disney production compared to Diablo I. \r\rI hope IV is a step towards going back to what the game was all about.
One of the greatest cinematics I've ever seen
Rathma ?

But different than the summoning guy, maybe it's one of her children.\r\rI have a crackpot theory that the summoner represents the player character in Diablo III. Following the defeat of Malthael, Tyrael says that one day the Nephalem would be tempted by corruption and he wondered if we could resist the urge or would give into the power. If Lilith's end goal for the Nephalem was for them to be the future and end the Eternal Conflict, that would sound noble to the player character. Perhaps the "blessed mother" line was literal as you could say that Lilith would be a mother figure to the Nephalem.
Is Cpt. Obvious that guy is Rathma.
Blizzard is still deciding how dark they want to get in future cinematics and in-game storytelling. This is the only part that worries me. I'm hoping they stay on the track they're on, and that the artists' passion for doing something different is strong enough to keep it from evolving into something more mainstream. It looks amazing right now, but I wouldn't be shocked if there is some pressure from the suits to tone down the horror\/occult vibe and make it "more appealing to a wider audience". Hope I'm wrong about that tho. Fingers crossed.
I'm thinking Uldyssian or whatever his name was.
I like that diablo has a darker theme and art. With wow you get a large variety, and OW is largely very bright.
