At least they're talking about it. Sure they won't do anything really about it, but at least they acknowledge it.
RIP
I usually try to come into these blue posts cautiously optimistic but even I have to admit that's a pretty huge letdown of a reply.\r\r"lol two of your points are oxymoronic and also yeah we admit this stuff sucks but also we're not going to fix it" is really not the way any of this should be handled. \r\rTraits have easily turned out to be the most tedious and arbitrary part of this expansion and it's become pretty obvious they have no intent of making it feel more natural, intuitive, or fun to use. gg blizz
They feel sooo disconected from the issue , it's gettin unreal ... i mean where do he\/she addresses the fact that Azerite simply isnt accessible? That 1\/100 chance is "working has intended"? If so tell us so we can unsub ...
Well that clarifies it, we're stuck with this awful azerite system for the rest of the expansion, great.
so all in all you've decided to become complacent and not respond in an appropriate manner to the community. Unless a trait is game breakingly too strong you are basically saying that it wont be adjusted until its absolutely necessary. So we are waiting week to week on your content schedule to hope that things get micromanaged to an appropriate level when everyone DEEPLY wants changes to occur before and during 8.1 .. for a LOT of people thats your make or break period blizard. 8.1 you'll either see tons of subs leave or tons of subs come in, it's 100% your call.
I like how he completely ignored the first point about the amount of time it would take to get azerite pieces if you're mainly a mythic+ person.
At least they're talking about it. Sure they won't do anything really about it, but at least they acknowledge it.\r\rThat means nothing... that's like a murderer saying "yea i know i killed it, but like hey.. watcha gonna do?" \r\rNo, this is not acceptable in any means.
Why can't people just equip whatever they get? A casual running normal\/heroic raids and keystones just for his weekly reward won't have a problem. Do we have to call a system bad just because hardcore raiders """"have"""" to sim their gear? Would they not sim their gear otherwise?\r\rPeople on the forums whine more than people in reddit nowdays. Can't we all relax and enjoy the game? Is it too hard?
If it ever really get "enjoyable" please tell me
I am less concerned about sim's right now and more concerned about Azerite Traits fitting into HOW I WANT TO PLAY my class. I am not going to sim everything but instead look to stack Azerite Traits that I want. As long as Blizzard address extreme outliers this should be the way players want to play. \r\rThough to be fair I am not a fan of this comment. "Our intention is that you either build out multiple sets of gear for different situations, or you lean towards traits that work in a variety of roles (even if they're maybe not the absolute best for each in particular)."\rWhile I like the idea of traits that work all around I am not a fan being asked to carry more gear and complicate my gearing more so I can change for each situation.\rI am a player looking for a successful way to gear and not make it complicated beyond compare. I already maintain a set for each spec. I do not want to multiply the issue by adding multiple sets for each of those specs.\r\rI think overall Blizzard would be better to treat the Azerite Traits more like Tier sets and offer a smaller set at each tier of gear progression to give flavor to that group, bring back some fun ones and throw in new ones. Maybe a set of 3-5 for each spec in the outer ring versus the 10+ we have now would help. \rTie the idea of Azerite Traits to being a Tier set I think is a winning idea.
Blah blah blah. "We are hearing you but we are not listening".Azerite traits need to be simple, so yeah let's give the healers 3000 mana over a 5 minute fight. And if anyone can top that as the worst trait I would be very surprised. No, no no, it is not read wrong either, the maths works out to just over 3000 mana in every 5 minutes total of being in combat. They did not even mention the fact the gear drops are rubbish, they go back to VANILLA to tell us how bad it was back than, 14 years man, 14 years. It was supposed to get better, not worse. Not to mention players like myself did not need to get that gear and still got AQ done, you know, with skill. Today you cannot rely on skill when players have a set 4 button rotation depending on the situation, no skill required for that just some god awful RNG.It's not like they said "Back in Vanilla we had bad drops also, so we had to go to another dungeon to gear up to get a higher iLVL to combat the harder difficulty we are facing with the current raid". They said "Do you remember going back to a previous dungeon for gear, how bad was that?"Like no %^&*, we ALL have to go to a previous dungeon to get better gear to combat the higher level dungeons, it has and will always be a part and parcel of playing an MMORPG, you cannot ever think just by being at max level you can head into the top dungeons and raids and perform expectantly. We are not complaining that we have to go to an earlier expac to get gear to help us with your current raids, we are not complaining that the gear we are getting is bad, we are stating that getting ANY gear that is going to help us is such a smaller chance of getting anything from any previous expansion. No flying.Less re-roll tokens.Less gear.No Master Loot.More farming required for everything.Stop changing the game to slow us all down.
"The point about traits being "useless and uninteresting" is interesting considering that you also make the point of "every gear change requires simming." These two points are kind of at odds with each other."\rNO, they are NOT at odds with one another...it's tedious and down right boring to have to do this maybe not 2, but3 or 4x(depending on class\/spec etc DH\/Priest\/Druid for exp.) and to say they are just means you(Mr Blue Post) are simply trying to dismiss that this is a serious problem for many of us. "Interesting challenge" is definitely subjective.\rThe reforging cost going up is ridiculous, ESPECIALLY if you have to use 1 set for dps\/tank\/heals(pally\/druid etc) if you are a part of a guild\/group that count on you for at least 2 of those for whatever reason. Reforging was amazing in WoD(one of the very few things towards the end, I might add)and bringing it back for nothing but the azerite gear sucks, but to then state the cost going up will only increase to sway people to NOT do as I gave an example of why they do is complete hogwash. If Blizzard is going to continue with reforging in this way, just take it completely out again and never bring it back.\rI have always been a player who didn't really speak against anything that went on ingame - I have been someone who has gone out of my way to find the best of each xpac, but I find myself more and more disappointed in BFA and it saddens me because I love World of Warcraft, and have never had a serious issue...until now. The points that were brought up I fully agree with and could add many more but it's seemingly pointless, and speaking to a brick wall so I will continue to play out this xpac b\/c I paid for it, but I will definitely remain reserved before investing in the next one. Especially if this is how Blizzard plans to go with things in the future.
As to the point about reforging costs: these costs get so high because we want the behavior you're describing -- reforging constantly depending on what you're doing -- to be unsustainable. Our intention is that you either build out multiple sets of gear for different situations, or you lean towards traits that work in a variety of roles (even if they're maybe not the absolute best for each in particular). We added the reforging system to help ease cases like, for example, a DPS who suddenly finds themselves needing to transition to being their guild's main tank, not as a means for constantly re-adjusting traits like a second set of talent points. Maybe the current system isn't achieving that, but if it isn't, we're likely to become MORE restrictive on reforging, not less.\r\rI was really hopeful they would remove reforge costs and let us use azerite armor like talent points and experiment, or at least change based on each spec, but they are threatening to go the complete opposite direction.
Is it too hard?\r\r\rit's not fun... it's a very badly designed system, its not about the "hardcore raiders" anymore.. i run a casual guild and due to this gearing system we a lot of our super casual and some new to the game players don't know how to gear appropriately and we can't really progress through heroic as quickly as we would like. \r\rSimply saying it's an issue of the hardcore players is simply plain ignorance. It's no longer an issue of the hardcore playerbase and also might i point out that just because someone tries in a guild or tries to be decent at a game doesn't make it at all hardcore ... if a player tries to be good the game shouldn't punish them.\r\rIT'S NOT FUN.
I still don't understand the system though, if they're trying to balance all the traits to be similar, and they're all just randomised stat buffs that we never really notice, then whats the point of the entire system even existing in the first place?
The amount of sardonic sarcasm in this response is unreal. This is basically the equivalent of Blizzard patting us on the head and saying "ok sweetie, whatever you reckon". These are all REAL ISSUES that they're doing NOTHING about. They're saying that the system is working because it's been "updated so much over the past few weeks" when literal millions of people who actually PLAY the game on a daily basis are screaming otherwise. People say azerite is better than legendaries, that legendaries were a terrible system- at least they provided many different ways to play and you could choose what you wanted, azerite just barely improves upon the play style that they WANT you to play- and for most classes it's barely even fun! At least with legendaries you didn't have to have all your bags and bank FILLED with 3 different kinds of 'back up" gear. Sure you had to do that with legendaries, but there was a cap to how many you could get. With azerite, people need to hoard 3 different kinds of gear slots JUST IN CASE there's a sudden change which shouldn't have been this big of an issue in the first place! That's why we're mad!THE SYSTEM IS BAD BLIZZARD AND YOU SHOULD FEEL BAD. How about LISTENING to these complaints instead of thinking you know better just because you made the goddamn game. How about listening to people who play it for hours and hours daily. How about listening to the people that pay money for this garbage of a game, because without them you wouldn't even have this game TO make money from. Get your goddamn heads out of the sand and DO SOMETHING.
They feel sooo disconected from the issue , it's gettin unreal ... i mean where do he\/she addresses the fact that Azerite simply isnt accessible? That 1\/100 chance is "working has intended"? If so tell us so we can unsub ...\r\rThis statement makes no sense....
Our intention is that you either build out multiple sets of gear for different situations, or you lean towards traits that work in a variety of roles\r\rThat just tells me they want people spending more time grinding away (just like with everything else). \r\rAlso balancing traits to the point of them being similar, why? Whats the point in even having the system if all of these traits that are stat-pads are similar enough to ignore?
wait, more gear sets? didn't we move away from more gear sets? So we're back to me carrying around a set of azerite gear for tanking, one for DPS, etc?
