if only we could get on the PTR
You would think many of these changes and experiments would've happened in alpha\/beta, not on PTR. They've already nerfed tank threat considerably since Legion.\r\rSeems strange they'd consider nerfing taunt of all things.
I see absolutely no downside in an expansion where AOE threat was nerfed to the ground where reducing the threat bonus on taunts will go poorly. \r\rNone at ALL.
So instead of making it clear that every taunt has a threat bonus, they decided to remove it from the tooltip just to make it confusing for no reason. Anyway, it's nice to have a confirmation.
What is the reason behind this? Is that situation when the tank taunt and kite and DPS' kill packs in movement?. Until my knowledge, only specific classes can do that "trick".

Until my knowledge, only specific classes can do that "trick".\r\rNo, every tank can do it, but for some it requires a bit more effort than just leaping away. DK's can slow and mass grip adds to another player in the group(or a mob). Paladins can aoe slow with the right talent, or get help from i.e. a frost mage, then horsie away. Druids can typhoon, incap roar, etc. etc. Many ways to do it, it's just easier for classes like Demon Hunters who can leap away with the press of a button.
Instead of removing the info from the tooltips that have it. Please add the info to the tooltips missing the information. Complete and ACCURATE tooltips are a very good thing. One complaint i have with bfa is the inaccurate tooltips. Like them not changing values based on stats that do infact change damage output
Just stop messing with aggro. No need to do experiments, aggro is fine where it is.As one example, there's a risk that we end up in a situation where certain tanks need to use their taunt on cooldown as part of their single target rotation. That would be bad for several fairly obvious reasons.Who the hell is doing this anyways? No one thinks to taunt on CD... and if they do, you shouldn't be making changes to help them...
"Our expectation is that there is no tangible effect on your gameplay; you still use taunts exactly how you do now, and they have the same result." so why make the F'ing change at all? Are we just changing mechanics for the sake of change now? How about fixing the numerous bugs, how about fixing herbalism, what about fixing dungeon mechanics being too stringent on active healing promoting a passive healing gameplay that is unfun. Why not fix Pet AI, or the LITERAL THOUSANDS OF ISSUES WITH BFA! Blizzard must have hired complete lunatics recently because this expansion seems like a madhouse.
Jesus Christ again? When will they understand people hate these changes. the GCD is awful and so is making tanks worry about threat again this isn't Classic WoW its BfA and Legion was fine. They need to stop trying to force classic changes down my throat. If I want to play Classic WoW I'll play it when you release your official classic server, Also in all honestly remove class buffs again.
dont see any problems with gaining threat in BFA.. only at the "beginning" of your tank journey, but thats normal due to gear. guess if you play since vanilla.. you just dont bother =)
Seen a few people I know that used to tank that won't do it this expansion and I am too worried about threat to even attempt to learn on my DH.
Seen a few people I know that used to tank that won't do it this expansion and I am too worried about threat to even attempt to learn on my DH.\r\rThreat is really only an issue until you get like low 300 ilvl for most classes. It's why these changes make no sense and seem completely unnecessary.
Just fix the threat so that people will actually tank. finding a tank for m+ and other stuff is horrible atm.\rPersonally i don't have an issue with threat being lower than before. but for a dps perspective its fairly annoying.\rto queue up your key in group finder. and not finding a tank for over 2 hours. simply because there are barely any tanks.\rand the ones that do queue up. are either off-specs whom can't hold aggro.\r\ras for "taunt on cd" yes it does happen. especially when you're below 310 ilvl and you have these dps with 360+ in heroic dungeons\rpulling a high burst. just increase the threat for tanks to make the "taunt on cd" go away.\rTaunt should only be used when its needed.
Why make a change if they don't expect it will change anything? What's the point?
"taunt bonus opens us up to all sorts of wacky issues"\r\rAre we even playing the same game? How the hell is tanks holding extra aggro a wacky issue? I love how tampering and potentially nerfing the most underplayed role has greater priority over the myriad of other class issues that must be addressed. The team are really making it hard to love this game sometimes.
finding a tank for m+ and other stuff is horrible atm.\r\rIssue isn't finding a tank. The issue is when most people say "Finding a tank", they mean, "Finding a DK Tank".
Agreed with this so much, thank you. I don't understand why they make any kind of nerf to the class that's always in hot demand, be it for low level stuff or Mythics or whatever. It's already hard enough to get people to play tanks as it is, don't make it &*!@ing harder, Blizzard. -.-
Feeling like I might be a minority but seeing this as an interesting change. Have been tanking in most expansions and most of the time it has been rather dull when you do not have to think about threat. Liked it in Wrath when you had to use Hand of Salvation on the annoying feral druid or else they would die on bosses :)Have been playing most tanks and have liked it in this expansion that I once again have to try to keep aggro and not automatically have it because I looked at a mob. Also, as many say, as soon as you get gear threat usually isn't an issue any more.Edit fix for spelling.
