Queen Azshara is so sexy who would say no to her in that elf form :)
I enjoyed running Zul'Gurub in Vanilla. It was so nice to have a pug-able 20 man raid. After playing the first zone in Alpha, I'm really looking forward to unlocking the Zandalari Allied Race.
My love of trolls starts back at warcraft 2 and 3 . But i was sad about the darkspear being the skinny trolls and not the upright bulky trolls .Excited for zandalari druids but i have loved all the troll lore realyl excited to read all this on kindle later.
I'm a Cata-newb and i ran through Zul'Aman and Zul'gurub countless amount of times going for every piece of transmog. It's a shame I missed the originals.
I had this troll druid i played like 4-5 years ago already and I loved playing it bc it was my first druid over lvl 20. The only real memory that I can actually remember clearly was lvling him in Thousand needles as I watched a brand new parks and rec episode. I sadly deleted that troll for some reason, I don't remember and made another like 2 years later. I have some pretty fun memories on him too but not any that were as fun as the first.
Zul'Aman has been always my favorite RAID. The dungeon, not as much. But I loved the feel and lore behind what Zul'Aman brought and the bosses were very unique and quite difficult. I wish the raid was still available just for the memories! And don't get me started on the trailer. That was epic beyond proportions!
*Insert nostalgic music here*My favourite troll memory is definitely using Path of Frost after Twin Val'kyr in Trial of the Grand Crusader and killing almost the whole raid - I only regret killing myself alongside them the first time I did it, because I was too busy pre-evil laughing to face my camera down... Telling everyone on Teamspeak "Let's summon the missing people" followed by "Someone click" and then popping a portal to Stonard on my troll mage is a close second only because several times the only warlock in the raid clicked the portal and had to get to ICC by foot if the Summoning Stone expired. Reroll Orc they said, they have better racials for DKs they said. Little did they know that trolling Trolls are da way to go, mon!
ZG was the first raid I entered. I loved so many things about this place but one of my favorites was being the Hunter responsible for managing the Sons of Hakkar on the Hakkar fight. I always hoped I'd get Zin'Rokh when it was current content but it never dropped. Thankfully I got a chance to go back in to get the original one not long before the raid got re-released. I still have it in my Hunters bank :)
I remember how strange it seemed to me that the Zandalari trolls, who we had befriended by fighting their enemies in Zul'Gurub, turned into new villains in 4.1. I have to admit that I didn't delve much into the lore back at the time, so having the story of how Prophet Zul lead the Zandalari into the seas in 5.2 was really nice. Now that I know that the Zandalari will become allies of the Horde, it seems that some interesting things might happen between King Rastakhan and Prophet Zul.God I love troll lore.
Zandalari trolls are definitely the number one Allied Race that I want to play. The whole color scheme just amazes it, everything about their concept and their style is so creative and beautiful. I love the Druid forms as well. Can't wait to learn more and more about them and experience their lore in Battle For Azeroth. I'm glad they've sided with the right faction ;)
My best memory involving the trolls would be ZA mount runs. My guild made the 10 man and worked our way up to regularly clearing until we all had one. Best screenshot.
I'm big lore geek and ever since blizzard first upright troll model in MoP i wanted Zandalari as a race. Yet here we are :)
What I'm most excited for with the Zandalari as an Allied Race — assuming that Blizzard sticks with their awful decision of no Zandalari Paladins (and maybe even then, I am getting attached to the idea) — is making my Rogue as a devotee of Jani, Loa of Scavengers. I think it would be a really interesting way of exploring the Zandalari Caste system, by playing through the story of someone found to be Casteless and living up to the self-fulfilling prophecy that they all become thieves, only for him to develop a very strong affinity with a Loa later on.Also, I'm going to be using TRP3 to give him the title Heklord because of 'hek hek hek hek'
Besides UBRS, Onyxia and Azuregos, Zul'gurub was the only vanilla raid content I participated in. I remember pestering my guildies to help me farm Gahz'ranka for Tome of Polymorph: Turtle well into the burning crusade. I also held on to Tigule's Harpoon and Thekal's Grasp long enough to have them in my transmog collection.
Must be the joy to run ZG day out and day in on different alts, never getting the mounts, and then u hear they are gonna remove ZG, the pain, the love, the fury...
My favorite troll story line was the fall of Zul'Drak in Wrath of the Lich King. The Zandalari trying to stop the drakkari from sacrificing their own gods in a last desperate attempt to save themselves. Very cool and I can't wait to take my new Zandalari paladin (fingers crossed) to play through that zone.
I remember back in Vanilla something that happened during one of the late night ZG raids. We were going at it for about 4-5 hours. We were stuck on that boss that summoned the bats. He was to the right of the instance. I dont think hes around anymore. I fell asleep at the keyboard and woke up a few hours later to a dead character , raid over for the night, confused, not sure what the hell was going on. -_-
The best troll moment that stayed in my memory ? The defiance of Vol´jin in the 4.1 Rise of the Zandalari trailer."The Horde is my people." Makes me shiver even now. Abandoning their (almost) brethren so they can stand together with a faction that helped them in their most dire times. As for the Zandalari hype, i really love the new druid forms, might even wanna reroll my tauren druid for a Zandalari (although im kinda angry for grinding all of the Mage Tower appearances on my current druid, just to see this pure dino-awesomness being added in the next expansion). Im not a big fan of Zandalari paladins though, even when they are explained lorewise in game and that we will see how they will lose connection to the light, i presume that their new horde allies (mainly Tauren or Blood Elves) will teach them how to reach to the light differently, without the help of a Loa to guide them. Just let the Battle for Azeroth commence already ! Hype is real !
My favorite memory is of doing Zul'Farrak, I always loved Tanaris, we need more desert regions! And I am excited for Zandalari, gonna make a druid :D
