Finally! Some light has shone on the backstory of Alleria & Turalyon! It has been a long time waiting, and it gives good insight into where the story is heading in future. Much excitement. Thanks Blizz & Wowhead!
I'm so glad we get more about Alleria and Turalyon! They are honestly my favorites and "Beyond the Dark Portal" wasn't enough for me!
I love what Blizzard is doing by expanding their story telling. I typically purchase the books related to upcoming expansions, but the audio stories are a very nice change and hope they continue to release them. Honestly I can see Alleria falling to the void if the light turns it's back on her, which appears to be the current situation. The all or nothing approach rarely works, there has to be some compromise.
Have to say that my favorite part of the story was the fact that they acknowledged that some people just have a certain affinity to the darkness. Its so easy to say "Oh look, he can wield the light" but to openly say "I wield the shadow, I am not afraid" really inspires me
Overall i think it was pretty good and well thought out. Quite a change from blizzard!
This is soo Amazing, love to listen/Watch new stories about our heroes in WoW. And btw the poster look smashing!
Great job, Blizzard. I'm glad to read these books, because I love wow lore so much.
Audio dramas are the hype. Really hope to see more of those
oh wow :O such a beautiful surprise from blizzard. love how they do that to explain more of story. GJ!
One off the best things about WoW is Blizzard's attention to detail and lore. This continues in that vein.
So much grey area in Light and Shadow.
This was one of the best visually pleasing lore depictions I have ever seen! The narration and character voices fit together so well and really immerse you into the story. It was fascinating to hear the rumors circulating Alleria and Turalyon, and officially meeting them and hearing their stories. The conflict with the light and darkness is such an incredible concept, I'm so excited to see where this goes!
As usual, Blizzard really surprised me with another great audio drama. I hope that they plan on doing more of these, especially to give the underpinning of many of these character stories some light without some kind of "time wimey" stuff to show it in game. I was surprised that Locus Walker held back against Lothraxion, though. What kind of "power" would one have to see someone's destiny, is he the shadow equivalent of Velen?
I love how integral Magni has become in this ongoing story now involving our own Titan, Azeroth. Like others have said, the writing and thought fleshing out the story of the Army of Light and their ordeal has been phenomenal, I only wish I seen more of it in the game!
What a great story. I am not sure where this story is going to go, but can't wait to see it all play out. The posters are beautiful.
the third death stuff i was pretty sure was refrencing to the shattering stuff on azeroth.
I really enjoyed this short story, and the voice acting on the audiobook was particularly well done! Kudos! That said, the story was exactly what I hoped, and answered a lot of questions in detail about Alleria and Turalyon. I'm still very curious about Alleria though - and how it could be that one so closely tied to the Light could ever be reached by the Shadow. The story just kept claiming destiny and fate, and that Alleria could somehow sense this. But yet the story was also extremely clear that Light and Shadow don't mix - ever - and even that Light cannot sense the Shadow's future, nor the opposite. So how could Alleria sense her own Shadowy destiny, being one of the Light? That inconsistency scratches at me. I'm sure more will be revealed as the plot moves forward. Oh, and one other thing - I think we missed about 500 years or so of story, when Alleria searched for and eventually found the Locus-Walker. I hope Blizzard will tell that tale in more detail, since that may help answer my gnawing curiosity!
This was one of the best things i have ever heard. At this point is looks like Arathor will really be the child of light and shadow.Alleria may become "Illidan" of the patches maybe expansion to come, like the person who will do whatever it takes.Turalyon may now see that even the light isnt all that good as he thought, he sometimes seems to be like religious fanatic. Also i hope we will see more of locus walker and lothraxion, possible more of arathor stepping up somehow. So far legion looks like one of the best expansions lore wise and im thrilled to see what blizz got for us next.
So great that this is released to shed some light about them... it will be a second part? This posters are awsome ! :)
I thought that was another excellent audio drama! I hope Blizz keeps making them. If anything this made me distrust the naaru even more and reinforces that Illidan did the right thing in destroying X'era. Both Light and Shadow are needed and I think Alleria and Turalyon will end up sacrificing themselves to save Arator somehow (or empower him) down the road as it's pretty clear he's the actual person the prophecy speaks of.
