More time for them to play Skyrim! (or pay for new accounts, level, and gear back up... )
Sometimes an abuse or exploit is not black or white, where a startegy or ability not tested by blizzard has an unforseen effect on an encounter, such as the example with the lich king. In that case it was reported that upon discovering the cause of the glitch, they continued to abuse it however. However this was an obvious exploit from the start and they knew full well that was not an intended use of the raid finder. The bans are well deserved, if anything being too light.Good to see blizzard getting tough, but not soon enough.Guilds or individuals should fear the consequences of knowingly exploiting, but as of yet that does not seem to have sunk in.Lets just hope this is only the start of a real kick up the backside for the raiding community in general.Play fair or miss out.
Ban Hammer hits you for 8 days..... "YOU DIE"GJ Blizzard <3
dont think its enough..they always do it
Well deserved ban's all round. Even to the "I DC'd" few. Face it, what was done went against the terms of use. No matter if you exploited it to get your gear faster for progression or if you DC'd. Fact still stands that you went against the rules. If you DC'd you can try again next week. Everyone DC's at some stage but that's no reason to exploit and take that gear away from someone else who hasn't DC'd but now your taking his justly earned gear unfairly.8 Days might be a bit short imho, but it's good to see Blizz on the job.
Going to go against the grain here and say they should have been 24-48 hour bans. Exploits like this (yes, I am comparing standing on a ledge and negating boss attacks to manipulating lockouts via zoning as they are both unintended yet unpatched bugs) have always existed patch week and it is pretty RNG if/when Blizzard decides to punish them. It would have been a severe disadvantage if it had been a non-bannable offense and they had not participated, almost undoubtedly resulting in a loss of world first. They deserve a bit of punishment, but not a lockout skip - we have to look at the past and remember that this is ultimately Blizzard's fault, not the players'.
Can't say I feel bad for them at all. Got what they deserve
Oh I'm very sure some people truly deserve the ban to be lifted... but it's only 8 days. The one big reason even the DC'd people should keep the ban is that there will be alot of the others who will also use this as an excuse to get back even when they did it on purpose.I still won't think less of Top Guilds because the few individuals do not stand for the entire guild... I will however think differently if the guilds also do not implement a sort of punishment for their members that did this.
These are the same people who complain about the game being too easy. Like I always say, these people are liars.
You break the rules, you eat the ban...like it or not you agreed to it.
What really cheeses me off about this is you know full bloody well these guys were rehearsing all of this on the PTR. They knew exactly what they were doing.
