I always play a least once through any game as a mage. I love the lore & idea of wielding magic, however games that allow you to make hybrid mages that can actually get up close and melee are the best.
I like to play rogues, or hunters, relying more on agility and skill more then on brute force or magic :)
Paladin or Ranged/sniper here though I sometimes do play a monk. I'm an old school RPG player where the R in RPG means Role and not roll or bagel =P
I like being an offensive caster and keeping a distance to the things I kill. Having the time to play with the NPC is really fun.
I am notoriously a Tank.I think it's a trust issue, I don't think that others can handle it, so I do it.
I normally go for the warrior types because it's easier to start out with most of the time.
I gotta admit i usually am drawn to meelee brawler sort of characters in rpg's also becourse they are harder to play than ranged sissies that fling their arrows and run away everytime the enemy closes on 'em. More blood and guts the better!
I usually play a stealthy class. I also enjoy ranged classes and the plate wearing hero type classes.
I usually go for a mage-warrior combination, there's just nothing more fun than a mage in heavy armor beating enemies with spells and weapons
I somehow usually always find meself playing a melee type, preferably dual-wielding, despite that i'd often rather play a caster. It just kinds of happens i guess?Regardless of what type of class i am actually playing, through, i tend to often put points or whatever into one or another kind of survival - being unkillable is always pretty satisfying, so long that it requires skills to stay alive.

Hot wizzles! I tend toward MELEE classes myself. I like banging on things in an up close and personal sort of way. Fury warrior & Enhancement Shaman in WOW.
Damage-dealing caster.
I love playing the paladin archetype, being able to get in there with heavy armor and heals and take one hell of a beating! Or perhaps I'm just terrible at staying alive and need all these tools. :(Also, I'd like to say I'm glad to see a contest that's open to people from outside of the USA for a change (I know, shipping/handling and local laws get in the way).
