Warrior to start. Always easy hacking/slashing. Then mix in mage or whatever it takes to get healing done. And hopefully get some fire/ice/lightning to throw out. WarWizard is the end goal.
Usually I like to play a warrior because it makes me feel powerful with all the super big gear and the hammers, almost makes me look unstoppable and scary at the same time to face. Also I like to play warrior or a melee character because of the cool weapons you can get and be able to take more damage then other classes.
I usually play a ranger/hunter type of role, unless the magic system is interesting, in which case I may do that.
I tend to play ranged classes in RPGs, whether bow or gun, preferably with a healthy dose of stealth. I'm the kinda person that likes to sneak through the levels and pick off as many goons as I can, from a distance, before going toe to toe with the remaining goons, relying on a high Agility/Dodge to keep me safe.Although I did change it around a bit with Skyrim and play a dagger assassin :)
I used to be into damage classes but now I'm all about tanking
I usually just play as caster.. Have tried the melee role over the times and times again, but this is just not for me.. So caster everywhere :)
usually roll a caster and a rouge type and bounce between the 2 i'm very addicted to stealth though

I will always, always, ALWAYS play anytime of caster, be it Mage, Cleric, whatever, if it's got spells, it's got my attention.
My very first adventure in an RPG was Secret of Mana for the Super Nintendo, and it cemented the warrior role in my mind. And what wasn't nailed down at that point was driven home by the barbarian in Diablo 2. There's nothing greater then unleashing your blade from its scabbard and charging head first into a frenzied battle. To coincide with this, I name all my characters the same name, Onshava =)
I like to play versatile classes, e.g. in WoW I play druids as I can be ranged dps, melee dps, healer, or tank.
I prefer the stealthy rogue types, moving in the shadows and striking fast. Depending on the mechanics of the game I also like the archer types.
I tend to find myself playing a rogue class...something about the sneakiness is just amazing and crazyBOOM. I bet you thought this message was over...BUT IT ISNT DUN DUN DUN
Id say healer, after the massive amount of games iv played in my time. Someone has to be the saviour of all the Leeroy jenkins out there. Pretty self explanatory! :)
I'm a sword-and-board guy. Give me all the armor you can. :-)
I always end up playing casters as my "main" characters. Casting spells, controlling all forms of magic, that's my sort of thing. Never been a fan of melee. No surprise that my main in WoW is a mage.
Usually I play a caster. Any monkey can pick up a piece of steel and stab someone with it. It takes someone truly creative to harness the raw forces of creation and make that monkey explode in a raging inferno of fire and lightning.
