I tought about going blacksmith and rushing to craft high ilvl base legendary items for profit. But the amount of Oboreal shards (reagent sold by merchant for 1k each) needed per crafs above rank 1 has increased. To get a recipe to rank 4 you have to craft 10x rank 1, 20x rank 2 and 20x rank 3.That’s a whopping 190k gold per recipe to get rank 4.Thus 1 520 000 gold to learn all 8 recipes at rank 4. And that’s only from shards, not taking into account the cost of actual materials like ore and enchant-enhanced ore. Imagine you’re a leatherworking rogue, you need 3m and who knows how much on leather and scales to learn all 16 recipes lol. Some will regret going broke into the Shadowlands.Edit : i actually did the math, and to get a single recipe it needs 9250 ores (evenly spread on 5 types of ores - 1850 each) and 5550 soul dust (basic enchant material). 74 000 ores and 44 400 soul dust to max all 8 recipes. Yep. Maybe the Orboreal shards arent the costy past after all.
I agree with BfA pots still being in demand as the SL stuff requires level 51 and supply is going to limited which means higher costs at first. BfA herbs are so cheap right now and if you do get Silas proc (the QL is easy, but getting the regents to craft it is time consuming as you need to do four dungeons with at least one is Heroic) you can make some good gold fast. If you plan on doing Contracts in SL then Alchemy absolutely, positively must be on your main as Contracts will require Revered Rep in order to learn the recopies.
I have over 15 million gold, and I'm not going to buy it. A few months ago, when I came back in May, I told myself if I made 15 million gold, I would buy it. At the time, I had 7 million gold. In 4 months I've doubled that, but then I decided that I'd rather spend the 5 million for the brutasaur on BMAH mounts instead. I've already bought a couple, and I've only spent 1 million. I figure I can get another 3 to 5 mounts for the rest of the 4 million I'm willing to spend. Basically I told myself, would you want 1 mount that you don't really care for, or 6-7 mounts that are much more time consuming to get, and look infinitely better.
just wish they would nerf multi boxing, I hate competing with 10 druids soaking up all the nodes and the havoc they create to the economy, driving prices down so much, so quickly, that its hard to make good money if you DONT multi box... maybe that's what blizzard wants, a bunch of people buying tokens for their boxing toons.
If it works, I'd say go for it. If you can make 130k gold per account per month, then why not?
On the petting topic, does anyone with Beta access know if the current pet battle reward tokens are being replaced in Shadowlands? I.e. should I spend the ones I have now on levelling/making rare quality pets/buying cage-able BfA ones?
I wonder what effect the information about wow server population has on the economy. Do servers with more players have cheaper items or are more expensive because more of them can be sold.
