PI or generally giving buffs to other classes like Benevolent Fairy is just crazily toxic logwise. Just look at the Demonology Warlocks in Sepulcher. Getting nerfed, because it performs "too well" in the raid while the first 500 rankings everyone had multiple PI's. So it actually assumes you need to have PI as a Demo? And to those grey loggers who say "uh well whatever just let it be as it is" it has never been this frustrating to log as in Shadowlands and to the guys saying "Only idots fk cry about PI, who play for themself and dont give a fk about killing the boss" if you just take PI out of the logs everything is fine. PI wasn't there before and bosses got killed, you literally make 0 sense?
I'm glad they're keeping Power Infusion in. Being able to buff other classes is part of the fun of being a support character. If people have a problem with that affecting logs, then the issue should be resolved on logging sites, not by removing a fun part of the game. This seems like a great development in the right direction.
Remove PI from the game
Jesus, this ability causes THAT much controversy?
God I wish Blizzard would crack down on logging.Power Infusion is a cool, thematic ability and the parse chasers want it gone because it makes the logs messy.
So, next step is banning Heroism/Bloodlust and any other global raid buffs like this? Abusing PI on same character from multiple priest can be seen (and considered) as not fair but it's somethig that can happen, I dont understand why a poll for this thing....
I really never understood the contentiousness over this non issue. The target for PI should be the top dps, period. It’s a non brainer. That doesn’t suddenly change if you have access to more than one PI. The problem isn’t with PI itself it’s with the toxic practice of placing inordinate emphasis on dps meters and “topping charts” none of which matters one bit if the raid as a whole is not best served by it. There is no (P)“I” in team.
NGL the pi's problem always was a "Warcraftlogs" problem and I really like that they adress it (and not wow).I'm not sure about 4 or 5, 5 seems more fair overall 🤔
For those asking why PI is controversial: PI is a problem for players who enjoy the competitive aspect of wow (nothing wrong with that) and there are more of them than you might think. Just look at the proportion of NM players who play the right talents or the right covenant even tho they stick to NM raid or 15 keys. So for those player the problem is that PI removes any incentive and the pleasure of pushing themselves to the limit, trying to get that extra cast or the exact right time to use cds and do as good as possible because guess what, if they are not the one getting PI in their group or if they don't even have a priest in their group to begin with: THERE IS NO CHANCE they'll do as good as someone getting external buffs (it's not even close). So it removes that component of fun. Furthermore for people doing MM raids, logs are essential to get in a new MM guild because obviously they measure your efficiency since it's an important factor to do mythic raid. So having logs being biaised because of PI is bad for those people. Additionnaly it would avoid a situation like we had with demonology where a spec gets a big nerf just because so many players are getting PI and it 's scale well with said spec even tho that spec is not broken without PI. Happy to get deeper into the conversation if someone wants[
What happens to shadow priests in the logs right now, if they only cast their own power infusion on themselves? Seems like it would be harsh to remove them from logs, just because they used their own cooldown on themselves as part of the dps rotation.
