Ooh, this is just like for BG, where they fix'ed the problem with alliance player doing BG's, cuz i havent seen the +50% honor buff there for age...ooh wait a sec.I still find it kinda silly this buff is even there for PvP tbh, PvP'er already get OP PvP talent (thats not ment for PvE!) when they have war mode on, this bonus to exp / resouce is more ment for PvE imo, cuz they are losing out on PvP talents.
Ion forgot about that classes or specs that are dead in PVP, how can they turn on Warmode and play without getting a punch in the face after each corner?
Just remove racial bonuses and abilities. Is that so hard?
I fully expect this to get trolled but oh well here it goes...For the Horde players calling Alliance pussies, you apparently have never been killed and camped 10v1 for the past 3 expansions every time you walk out of a main city, or sometimes in a main city. For those saying the buff is not enough, get real. I have both alliance and horde characters and my horde priest has had war mode on since it became available. I tried leveling on my alliance characters and my first 120 got most of the way with it on but I had delays in release week caused by IRL responsibilities and around 119 there started to be horde goon squads running around and just camping people so I turned it off. While I do like this better than CRZ I still would rather see solid realms again over CRZ because there is some sort of risk to ganking when you cannot hide behind a realm wall. For those talking about high end PVP, EVERY top pvp participant that played with the old human racials agreed 100% that it was OP and deserved the nerf and shadowmeld was fixed years ago when it was used as a vanish to avoid spells. There is still the shadowmeld rake combo for nelf druids but war stomp is so much better. The dark iron racial is the only alliance racial worth a damn in pvp but it is still put to shame by the belf, tauren, orc, and even in some cases troll not to mention the undead racials (plural) that still puzzle me as to why they work in pvp. There are many other examples but here is a possible group of solutions. 1. Disable all racials in rated PVP. This will remove the XXXX is OP in arenas because of YYYY. For the time being there would still be a very unbalanced ration of horde to alliance but without racials as a motivator it could curb some of the numbers. 2. Do not have any war mode bonus unless you actually participate in war mode. Again, my priest has had war mode on for months because she never gets attacked or hardly even sees an enemy player. My alliance characters have has WM on and been attacked in cities and major quest hubs. No war, no bonus. 3. Stop denying that there is a faction imbalance or that the sale during MoP did not cause a major part of it. For a history lesson, about mid way through MoP there was a half price sale on all character services. I have no idea what this was supposed to accomplish, but it hopefully was not meant to cause such a huge swing in faction population. During this sale I played on one of the bastions of pvp servers. A nearly 50/50 ration since the servers opened in vanilla with a large community of players that helped to police the servers actions. You were being ganked in a low level area, a high level player was usually near to put an end. You were bored and wanted some world PVP, there was a community of people for fun events. In the span of about 3 weeks the server population went to about 70/30 horde and then a month later there was a free transfer offered to an overflow server and we ended up around 80/20 at best. Suddenly you could not even complete a daily quest without a full raid just mowing you over. The horde completed the Isle of Thunder quest to unlock different zones days ahead of the alliance with people like me doing the quest on 4-5 toons so we could try to catch up. The server got so bad that major guilds either faction changed, transfered off, or folded because they just could not keep a roster of alliance players when so much of the population was horde. This is just an example of the imbalance that was becoming a major problem. This was at a time when nearly every caster wanted to be a troll for the haste buff, pandaren were a neutral race but still mostly seen as cute and cuddly alliance toons so many of the top monks were running as blood elf or undead with the insane racials for pvp. The new island that would come would reward you for killing people so alliance could barely even complete quest without running into death squads on the graveyard run isle, i mean timeless isle. And lets not mention trying to turn in the cloak quest at peak hours. Trying to talk to Wrathion was basically a joke. Just look at how many times 2-3 full raid groups would camp the timeless isle timewalking vendor until war mode started. I hope this did not get too long winded and I do enjoy pvp, real pvp not the 20v1 goon squads, but until blizz even admits there is a faction imbalance and looks for possible solutions, it will only get worse as more people get tired of being on the losing side but like the game enough to just faction change or reroll and we end up with world of hordecraft where the bq queues take days and you see the time lost proto drake spawn more than you do gnome mages.
Just go back to the old PvE/PvP server method instead so I can get this trash off my realm.
I don't understand why there needs to be a bonus for warmode at all. If you put a bonus there, many people who don't actually want to pvp (including myself) turn it on just for the bonus. If you don't put a bonus there, only people who enjoy world pvp will turn it on and everyone's happy. You might want to add some rewards there, which are useless in PvE, but just don't give PvE-only players any incentive to turn on War Mode EVER.

Fixing War Mode is kind of approaching the problem on the wrong step. The real problem is that hardcore people, both PvP and PvE, generally choose Horde. So that guy who is geared and definitely wants to kill the enemy faction? Gonna be Horde.It's all about the racials that influence someone's faction choice to begin with. That's the step that needs fixing.
I like warmode, but as a healer I don't know where the heck people who need me are at. All we have to go on is chat and addons that people haven't been using since Cataclysm. The addon Carbonite used to have a ton of features all mixed in together. It would let players know where guildies, spotted enemies, friends, and more were at through the addon's map. Now it is an addon that is less used and it also split the world PvP tracking feature off into an optional folder. On top of all of that, Blizzard removed the WorldDefense channel because of how sharding works.WorldDefense channel was how players were able to know when to defend Darkshire, Crossroads, faction cities, etc back in Vanilla through WoTLK. We don't even have the basic means of knowing of an attack while we are outside of a map anymore. We can only join up into world PvP guilds and have guildies invite each other into shards that are being attacked.Blizzard seriously needs to update the social aspect of this game. Let friends, guildies, and perhaps even faction members flag where they are in the world. Make it easier to find battles occurring in the world from far away.
And what about fixing issue, that call to arms weekly honor reward would count towards : tour of duty for that particular zone?

Maybe a Wintergrasp style Tenacity buff where the underrepresented faction gets a but that scales depending on how outnumbered you are? Becoming a one main raid boss could be way more fun than getting steamrolled by 20 dudes and hell, it would give those 20 dudes a fun challenge in trying to kill you. It sure would beat the pants off of getting farmed by those same 20 dudes.

And I'll continue to do the same thing I've always done, leave that WM crap off. I've never liked PVP and refuse to participate in it in any form no matter what bonus rewards Blizzard offers. It's never going to be worth the aggravation no matter the reward.
Blizzard thinking +20% XP / Gold / AP will do the difference. Yay... Make us gain #$%^ing conquest on World pvp, or more honor, or exclusive transmog'. Something APPEALING. Nobody care about 20% XP when they level through island expedition and future invasion in 8.1, or gold when they make so much more with the AH, or even ressources since the Warfront quests... People need to be motivated by something that won't be replaced by another mechanic.
