Thank you :( so much work all over again
Why did they mimic literally the wrong system when it comes to VP? They are trying to make it based on the conquest system yet, we are talking about currency for upgrades here Blizz NOT buying pieces. The conquest system is for buying our PvP gear and then we upgrade it with Honor, an infinitely grindable resource caped at 15000 but it's not a hard cap, heck it's just a max cap of what you can hold at one time. It is not based off of how much u can hold in a week or anything time-gated but on your own effort put into getting the resource. THAT is the equivalent cause we get our gear in PvE through drops Blizz we don't buy em! Base this off of the Honor system and make it a better equivalent. It SHOULD NOT take weeks to simply upgrade a weapon and even with the 5000 start cap oh great so you're saying you can get a head start on a few other pieces or just a weapon and then after that we have to wait on a time-gated cap for a couple of upgrades or none at all depending on our piece per week. Blizz needs to rethink this system and not purely base it off of the current conquest system cause they are 2 different things for 2 different purposes.
I'm ilvl 213 and i have KSM. So for mere, there are several BIS items i could target and upgrade through this system. Like hakkar tank trinket. I can only get a better one this way, or pray for lucky chest. This gives a better option (from 210 to 220) than hoping for a good chest..
This would be fine in my opinion, with 2 changes: 1) a vendor you can buy 'base' items from for xyz valor points, and then upgrade as normal. Slightly higher cost than equal to 1 upgrade level perhaps, since you can still get the items from doing the dungeons, but it exists so people don't have to farm dungeon drops on 9.0.5/ every new tier.2) an increased cap of 226 for +20s, so that you don't have to rely solely on vault RNG or other content (you may not wish to pvp/ raid mythic) for the best items, but, if you can get there (which all +20s is still a very high %age thing) you should deserve such a reward.
They fill the gap with "CONTENT" now that they work on 905 9.1 is delayed and so work.THE SYSTEM IS NOW FLOWERD the system is made so that we fool grind like idiots for months for 1 piece and keep our subs....
ilvls are way to low...
Still find it silly you aren't allowed to just upgrade them to 226 if you got keystone master, when you start having bis stat peices in your bags at 210 but gotta RNG your way via vault it is kinda silly, especially with trinkets. Would make it easier for the m+ only people to allow them to just get the *!@# they need to 226 via farming for X item and get VP instead of releying casino mechanics.
So a scenario I'm playing in my head which may have already been mentioned: Say I'm gearing my alt DK, with the intent to upgrade his sword. Now, 2-handers will cost 1k to upgrade, right? Meaning it will take several valor caps to upgrade your weapon depending on what iLvL it drops as.Imagine being on your third week of upgrades (assuming you have +15's done on your main). Still not capped on your weapon, but you're getting 14's done for your vault. And finally by a stroke of luck you get the 226 weapon from the actual vault and your weeks worth of work is disputed by RNG. Now for whatever else you might need to upgrade, you have to start all over and you have this half finished p.o.s in your bags now. Potentially 1-2 months can go by without a weapon even if you're really trying unless you PvP. Because there is such a thing as having THAT bad of luck. Why in the absolute hell are these upgrade costs the way they are? I don't even care about 226 gear at this point, that would just be nightmare fuel. Maybe once we see some numbers on how fast we can cap it won't be so bad but idk. That's potentially a lot of in-game hours wasted that they see as a positive probably. Screw the engagement metrics, if people quit a little bit faster because their character is geared so be it. Making it take longer to potentially screw yourself over with a stupid vault system seems counter-intuitive. That won't fix all the problems and make the system fine, though. tldr PvPers got GOATED this season. Better luck next season PvEbros
I just realized that if 200ilvl is rank 6 out of 12, than rank 12 out 12 is ilvl 218. Guess the last upgrade will be +5 ilvl. But we have to hope that Blizz can do the math.
This is a perfectly fine system. For people complaining about why they can't upgrade to 226 by completing all 15s, it's because it's way too easy. 20s would be fine for that or even 22s but definitely nothing under 20s. For those who think it will take them weeks to upgrade a weapon you will start with a 5k cap at start so you'll be able to upgrade weapon 5 times in week 1 which you don't even need to if you get it as a 210 item from +15. This system combined with increased loot drops from failed keys is definitely gonna solve a lot of gearing issues that we have atm
Once more, useless ilvl and time gated system. If you play with PUG, you need to have similar or higher ilvl to get KSM (yea I started bit late!) Good luck hunting that one missing item..
I think this fixes the issue with people not wanting to help their friends because they are scared to get something they really need from the vault but only at like a 200ivl. Our guild has had a lot of people return and its tougher for them to get gear because group finder is very hit and miss, and not everyone is willing to sac their vault if they dont have enough time to remedy the lower key options. Not sure i like gating it behind KSM for the last few however, unless its account wide maybe.
