This seems interesting. Despite what most people on social media think I actually like Sylvanas's character and I wouldn't want to see her removed from the story.
I loled t his one sir. Nice one. But then again she also gave a free pass to Illidan. I guess in WoW Theran Zhu and Varian might be the least forgiving characters cause they are so high on the self-righteous horse that they cannot see from the perspective of others. They lack empathy I feel Sylvanas should be given a task similar to Illidan. Forgive and forget but going forward it is time to repent. Make her the Jailer of Damned which she in a sense always was as the leader of the forsaken.
Imagine still siding with Sylvanas in endless apologia after all she did.
This is stinking of a redemption for Sylvanas and Blizzard going, "genocide is actually okay if you're hot!"
Once again Blizzard's concerning trend of genocide apologism rears its head, with a nice, healthy dose of removing agency from characters who were previously established as being fully in control of their faculties and simply being awful people as a result of the hand they'd been dealt, y'know, for seasoning."It's not REALLY her fault she tried to wipe an entire species and culture off the map in a raging inferno, the magic sword made her do it." is a take about as hot as the ice cubes in my water.
Elune said Teldrassil was all her fault, so Sylvanas will get off scott free. No character "development" required. "
Redemption arc incoming. Shes gonna be the new Arbiter calling it now
I hate the whole redemption crap. Can't we let her die a villain? With some conviction?Yeah, there might have been a bigger plan, but that doesn't mean it was a good one. It seemed to be building to a "I am making a better world" kinda mentality from her, except it might have only been a better one in HER eyes, a misguided idea. And she should have stuck to it with conviction, and died with it. Like Garrosh did.He was misguided, but he stuck with his ideals right to the very end, and died a second time for them. But Sylvanas can't even get to do that. She has to get a plot-convenient "get out of jail free card" with this soul stuff, so she can have a redemption arc.I feel they have ruined a once great character with a lot of potential. She could have made a good villain, but now she turns out to have been just the Jailer's little puppet, not truly "herself" all this time.I do love how Blizz, pre-release of Shadowlands, made comments on how Sylvanas does not serve the jailer, she serves no one. Hinting that it was an equal partnership. And yet she was just dancing on strings all this time... Disappointing.
Who cares, she did noting bad for the Horde and in fact before BFA and SW rectons, she showed deep devotion to forsaken and loyalty to those who useful for her (belfs). She has no sins to atone, no "old vengeance" to forgot (beta cucks favored trope in writing 101). Im not sure what reasonable, can they do to her now. Unless they plan to re-recton current Sylvana into Cataclism/Pandaria era Sylvana.
