I once died on top of a grapple point due to a bombardment. When I got back to my body I couldn’t click my body, the grapple point completely overtook all attempts to click the actual body to loot it.Gameplay should alway take precedence over lore but with Maw it’s the opposite.
Props to wowhead for knowing exactly how to trigger their readers. Fully embracing the fact wow players love to be outraged and posting clickbait reddit threads now.I fell off the maw two days ago btw, my corpse with 4k stygia was 50 ft inland from where I fell. Easily retrievable. Meaning this GM was just one individual talking out of his ass. Did any wowhead editor maybe think to test this claim before posting it? I'm thinking no
The only time I fell to the depths below my corpse with the Stygy was placed on the normal road in an accessible position, just like the poster above's situation.Obviously people can get unlucky, but it's not that the designers went out of their way to punish players, quite the opposite from the look of it. And at the end of the day, love it or hate it, at least the Maw gives you some edge of danger and actions have consequences in a way not present in the rest of the game. And luckily the area is totally skippable if you do not like this....
I dont understand the whining here, just dont die.. dont be near a cliff. Problem solved.
funny... i just wrote the exact same thing on the windwalker post: im disappointed this is intended, but also not surprisedwell... actually this surely is an oversight and that "working as intended" is just an "ugh, leave me alone ffs"-answer
My 6 year old son, when in Minecraft, loses his inventory when he falls into the void in survival mode. He frowns, then shrugs his shoulders and starts again. Doesn't ask Dad or Mojang to get it back, doesn't blame Jonas Martensson for being overpaid, just accepts it and moves on back into the nether once again. Sounds about right.
Losing Stygia upon death in the Maw is just a blatant bad design. Then again, this requires you to want to do any Maw activities. I have skipped anything to do with the Maw because it isn't worth it at all.
How about the loss of 8000 stygia? I ran into a bug with the renown quests in the maw. I died while on the quest, and because of phasing, there was no body to loot. I escalated the issue, and the GM stated that the developers provided them no method to track stygia, so their policy was not to restore it as it was a players word only. Of course, I would have never had so much Stygia is Blizzard allowed stacking of the socket/conduit upgrades, but that's a different story altogether. See this. Oh and when I asked that this be escalated, I was told to stop or they would consider it a violation of their rules for interacting with CS.

you can tell it is a lie because usully when you fall off your corpse is placed on ground next to where you die
