Hello mom !
How can a person finish in 2 different places at the same time? like 3rd/4th or 5th/6th/ and 5th/8th?
The problem with LHS is that if the meta is totally figured out and there is 1 deck to rule them all, then we will see a lot of unqualified players, playing in tournaments, and winning tournaments just because they win with this OP list. I remember the NA regionals in 2014. We saw a lot of unqualified players, play there, prety much only because hunter was such a strong class, and could literally win against everything, and it wasn't even a hard deck to navigate. A lot of the players there obviously didnt have much understanding for the other decks ( Thats why around half of them aren't playing competatively anymore) and just 3-0'd with hunter to qualify for blizzcon. While I do agree that Conquest does offer more outside RNG than needed, I still feel like it is the best format to run tourneys. It isn't too time consuming, and it is enjoyble to watch! No one wants to see someone who peeked rank 3000 on ladder win an open tournament, just because shaman or something is OP and easy to play!
I would agree that the last hero standing format should be used in tournaments. For a skilled player with less money than others, one good deck may be all they have. As a result, that person could win in Last Hero Standing as opposed to Conquest, which requires multiple strong decks. Hearthstone is a free to play game, after all.
