I hope if arch is brought back it won't be an off shoot of the WQ systems that emerged here. The OG arch is much better.
This was defiantly done as a "filler for players in the disguise of lore". One it contradicts the most recent novel's telling of the dracthyr. No one but Malygos knew of them besides Neltharion. He specifically trained them in the Reach to prevent the other flights and even the incarnates and their forces, from knowing about them. When they were discovered prematurely by Razageth, Neltharion made sure to seal her away with void to keep that secret as well as put all dracthyr in stasis when the oathbinder was broken in that battle to prevent anyone, including the other Aspects from finding out about his powers with the void, and his dragon killer weapons, the dracthyr. This lore basically contradicts that. Some dracthyr escaped and were killed? Not likely, right after the battle all of them were locked away in their respective creches with black dragonkin, and dragons guarding them until the next morning when Malygos arrived and helped seal them. Likely the people who worked on this quest chain were unaware of what happened in the novel, which makes this even worse. Sindragosa was in charge of the Azure Span for the most part so her having a conflict with a creation of Neltharion is plausible, at some point in time. It raises the question however, if the dragons were aware of these experiments would they not have suspected Neltharion's decent into madness before the War of the Ancients? This is very messy and not at all fact/ lore checked. They should not have chosen this story for their project. If anything the two headed dragon would have been better off being an escaped being from one of Tyr's labs, lending credence that the titans were experiment on proto dragons even before Galakrond and the Aspects. They could have kept all the other races involved, even the dragons and not have it try to tie into the dracthyr.
I got to the max rep on two characters and unlocked all the transmog. It was... alright, mechanics-wise.But yeah, it does feel like it wasn't given any support by Blizzard. Just made by a questwriter or two. The only hotfix is got is making you unable to mount in the digging area. But fixing those herb tasks that never have enough herbs up, never happened. And yeah. The lore. Ooooph. I noticed immediately that it made no sense whatsoever. It throws everything established out the window. If it were fanfic, it would be an offensive one. Dracthyr operating publicly on the Isle. Teaming up with other races. Known by Cindragosa. Neltharion attacking the blue flight. Coopration with the Djaradin. Someone with absolutely no sense of lore made this loremaster quest. And lacked total oversight from anyone that knew better. The real dev team has clearly been moved to the next expansion. This is just a bad filler episode. Which is such a shame. This could have been great.
Come back, archeology! We take back everything we said bad about you! It could clearly be so much worse!
I tried it and didn't really like the puzzle mechanic it used, so I wandered off. Now... I feel like I was lucky I missed it? That clouding mist must have been one heck of a forget spell too.
Terrible event.
Blizzard writing an incoherent story? Color me shocked lmao.
There was a story?
considering its not mentioned here, I'm gonna assume that Niroben's book will fill in some of the blanks of this lore, as the Igira's watch entry seems to expand on the Tuskarr and Djaradin trade.
So the game event pet will be rewarded. Guess patch 10.2.6 is just around the corner.
I'm so glad that somebody can use common sense because absolutely none of this was coherent.
What the hell, there was story? Every week for me he just rattled off the same rubbish about Sindragosa.
The "Big Dig" stuff is just terrible fanfiction to go along with all the other bad writing that is Dragonflight.
I think the most likely scenario is that Azerothian Archives is clearly a side project held together with faith and duct tape, and the story it tries to tell is just kinda $%^&. Better not to dwell on it too much.
