Tell me you don't do RWF raiding without telling me you don't do RWF raiding.
While for Liquid a race going on this long may have no been difficult and not a great experience when it comes to running an event. I thoroughly enjoyed it. Hope they can do something next time to better deal with the possibility of a race going longer than a week or two.
I'm sorry, I love Max and the boys, but they kinda wrecked themselves this time around. Going to Boston two weeks earlier just for prep, doing over a hundred split runs, raiding 'till 1AM every day (that we know of), it's no wonder they all got burned out. OTOH, it's also true that this tier was a bit too much, what with all the issues regarding tier, tuning for double-legendaries from the get-go, and the overall difficulty of the fights. Maybe it's time for the devs to stop treating encounter design as an arms race between themselves and a hundred or so players that happens once or twice a year, and start creating bosses with the rest of the playerbase in mind from the beginning.
Honestly Echo is known for their long term commitment and stamina to hold up progressing I mean does anyone else forget that most of the top players from Method (That later formed Echo) back in Tomb of Sargeras with what was it 19 days of progression on Kil'jaeden bring any memories in Legion? It also took 7 more days for a guild to get World 2nd kill on Kil'jaeden which is insane perhaps we will see the same happen here with Jailer? In the end I just think that Liquid wasn't prepared for such a long race and burned themselves out early on which is why we see many other 10/11 both EU, US and Chinese still carrying on while Liquid called it off to recover.I also think that for Liquid the race is kinda over due to they compete for World 1st while the other EU, US and Chinese guilds would still gain a lot of fame of obtaining World 2nd spot.
Imagine being this upset that you can't even congratulate the other team.
As far as I understood it, Echo had more possibilities to use Myth Jailor ready chars. Meaning they had been doing split raids to the maximum. Sure, you can say its a race and also a Formel 1 Team has to spend millions and millions of dollars to be able to compete, but Im still for template chars.Just create a server, let the top guilds play on it for 50 bucks a week or something like that per person (to prevent casuals blocking the server), which, to be honest, is by FAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAR cheaper than what they had to pay (in whatever way) to get to reach several first boss kills. Maybe even make it like LFR and devide it into wings. Per week one wing.If you do it that way, the bosses are designed for the template chars and you can make em so hard as the Mage Tower Shadowlands version is for normal players. Just designed for the top pros. At least for me the split raids were boring and I had no reason to watch at that point and also exhausting for the RWF players. I mean, Echo got it down, but just look at Liquid how burned out they were after 18 days of 16 hours raiding a day realising that they lost after Echo got good Phase 4 pulls and they still were often stuck in P2 and P3.I know many want it as it is, but as it is now its basically like having to watch some tennis or football tournament and instead of a game every 2 to 3 games, it is up nonstop. Not good for the viewers and def. not good for the raiders. :D
I don't watch the RWF cause I have better things to do, but I like the fact that they are putting the well being of themselves as a major thing. Yes, it would be nice to get First, but if you get sick (and maybe even with major harm to yourself), then what good is getting First? They admit that the other team was doing better over all this race and that they got the honorable First. Also the other team was very sportsmanship themselves with them saying that the other team put up a good fight and are happy with putting their health first. There will be another raid next xpack and hopefully both can learn a lesson from this one that makes the next race better for both without pushing themselves to such a breaking point.
ITT: People who think Liquid have quit the race. They have not quit. They are leaving Boston and traveling home and will resume on Monday. They will almost certainly still get World 2nd.
lmao, they have lost my respect, what an epic choke
Who cares about winning anything when your mental or physical health is collapsing? There's something wrong with you if you dont agree with Max and Limit decision
