My vote is for Wrathion, he's shown that he can fight the corruption and wiped out the Corrupted parts of their Dragonflight HIMSELF. He's Tried to Save the world on More than one occasion, did he fail the first time? Yes, but he did however Warn us it was coming and learned from his mistakes as shown in his Diaries. He's grown a faction from the Ground Up and has proved he can lead it by the loyalty of his own followers, and he's done the work of building ties to the Mortal Factions and to us, starting from when he was just a Newborn with the Rogue legendary questline... Also, Might I remind People, that it was Wrathion's Research that actually Saved Ebonhorn? The dude has Absolutely Put In the Work to be the Earth Warder... However, I do think that Sabellian should be IN the leadership as at least an advisor to the Aspect. Maybe even have the Aspect as Not the Prime leader of the Flight for once, but the True Champion of it. Having Sabellion be the leader of the Flight itself, and a go-between between it and the Aspect. Sabellian has after all brought a Whole flight of (hopefully) Uncorrupted Black Dragons to the field who are loyal to him as their father.
wrathion gave me a sick gem once so now i will return the favour now and swear fealty to my lord
So if we get to max level with Wrathion, is he going to reward us with another cloak?
Sabellian’s had my vote since BC.
Easy Choice. WrathionLoved Wrathion since the first time meeting him for the Legendary Rogue questline in Cata.Sure he have done alot more harm to Azeroth than good with Telling Kairoz to take Garrosh 35 years back and start the motion of the Iron Horde.Which set the Invasion of the Burning Legion Invasion ending with the fallen Titan's Sword piercing Azeroth.Sylvanas used Azerite to cause as much death as possible to send souls to the Maw.Which led to Sylvanas's powers to grow ALOT, shattered the helmet of the Lich King, and the veil between Life and Death.BUT! He did recieve Ancient / Titanic knowledge from eating the heart of Lei Shen in MoPHelped us be more immune towards the Void Corruption in BFA.Who even is Sabellian?, like sure i can read that he fought Gruul and his minions, but what else have he done to help us?.Sure maybe he has more experience in combat over Wrathion etc, but he seems like a father figure not a leader. But then again i have no idea who Sabellian is, but since he fought Gruul's forces, i presume he's in Outland.
Wrathion is just a star. Sorry Sabelian.
Hard decision, on one hand Wrathion gave us Legion which was a good expac.BUT... on the other, he also gave us WoD...
Wrathion can go play in a sandbox, I'll support the dragon that didn't make us do countless obnoxious grinds.
Wrathion is an arrogant child
I mean, let's not pretend that Wrathion is completely innocent. He was the one who busted Garrosh Hellscream out of prison and set off the events of WoD. More than that, he wanted either Horde or Alliance to kill the other. He was FINE with letting your ENTIRE kingdom burn to death so that the other could get strong enough to defeat the Legion.Yeah, he's doing it to protect Azeroth, but eventually you sacrifice so much that there is no Azeroth to protect any more.Anduin punched him for a reason. And yeah, he was a big help during the Old God stuff, and without him the world would have ended. That's true. But he would gladly kill us all to protect the planet, which is ludicrous. Obviously there was a solution beyond genocide, because we won and are still here.To me, this is boarderline Sargeras thinking. Which we learned in Shadowlands was all lies anyways. "If the void wins, they'll consume everything," whisper the henchmen of Denathrius to the Titan. So what did Sargeras do? "Better everyone dead than end up joining the Void faction of which we know nothing.">.>However, I for one will still side with Wrathion. He's really cute. In the end, that's what matters to me. That and Mog.
Is it bad i wanted to see a epic rap battle of them battling it out for leadership. not hey champion you decide who is gonna be black dragon leader.
Honestly Sabellian would make a much better leader for the black dragons considering he has already been leading them for a long time, but he wouldn't make for a good Earth Warder. He has not shown any indication of caring about that part of the role at all and is soly focused on hiw own kind.on the other hand Wrathion would make for a very good Earth wader, but is still too young and inexperienced to be the leader of the black dragons. I guess it comes down to which part of the Black Aspect role you are more interested in being fulfilled. Honestly i think they should split the duties between them.
I'd be more willing to support Wrathion if his dialogue doesn't big up his accomplishments and make it seem like he's universally respected and that his actions were all to prepare the mortal races for the return of the Legion...a return only made possible thanks directly to his own actions with freeing Garrosh, that cost thousands of lives and some of the realms greatest heroes, and which also lead into BFA and Shadowlands. Stranger still is that in BFA he is written as being regretful and remorseful over his mistakes, especially with regards to the Legion, but here he seems to be blowing smoke up his own ass to make it seem like it was a wonderful decision to make.I enjoyed him more when he was an introspective, flawed character: I fear this is Blizzard, yet again, trying to sand the rough edges off a character who frankly doesn't need it, just as they did with Greymane, Tyrande and many, many others. He was never characterised as a glory-seeker; he was always more of a scholar, a shady "friend," and someone who you could never really tell where he would go next. This new aspect to him feels not only forced, but contradictory too.Much in the same way I dislike the idea of Merithia being shoved into the background thanks to the seeming decision to bring back Ysera, I don't like the idea of Wrathion's development being cheapened out to make him more "likeable." They can easily develop him and have more compelling arguments for swearing loyalty to him, rather than the sloppy writing they've set up for this. While they're at it, could they maybe develop Sabellian a bit further? I get that will be a part of the levelling experience, but we at least know Wrathion's history. Sabellian hasn't even shown up in the novels, never mind the game, since the time Gruul's Lair was relevant. I'd be interested to know what he's been doing in Outland, and-especially- how he can claim to be Old God free when it took literal Titan artifacts and blood magic to purify Wrathion. There's a lot of potential in this story, but its being written ham-fisted and kind of bizarrely.
Where is Ebonhorn? Make it a trio, council of sorts.Sabellian is coming off way too strongly about how great he is (yet Gruul was killed what, more than decade ago by ingame lore?), it's annyoing and almost like Blizz wants Wrathion to be the default choice. Oh well, since we can grind both I assume there is some idea/future story behind this.
I hate this. I will never not hate this. Hey, Blizzard: We don't want to be forced to make "mEaNINgFuL cHOIcEs", okay? We just want to play the gd game we pay you for. You know what you can do with your needlessly-generated FOMO, you don't need me to tell you.
