The most epic loot I ever earned was my first Badge of Justice, which isn't in itself what I would consider an epic loot - until you hear the tale of how I came by it. I was a lowly level 70 with mediocre gear. First time runnin' Arcatraz. Myself - protection paladin, a warrior, a rogue, a shaman healer and a mage went for Skyriss. Long story short, the fight wiped out the whole party, with Skyriss at three percent health. I'm all alone. Mano y ...bug-o...I whack him with my axe and he's down to two percent. He jacks me with a physical attack and knocks me on my butt. With a potion in hand and a quick heal, I lay out the Consecration and my Hammer of Wrath, bringin' his health to one mesely percent. By this time, I've used a healthstone I had gotten earlier in the day and my potion hadn't finished it's cool down. I knew If I got hit once more, I was done. With mana on empty, I did the sterotypical pally thing - bubble with Lay on Hands! I lay into him with my axe a bit more... and then my bubble fades. Two more heavy hits against me, leavin' me on the verge of death, yet again. I try to kite bug-o around just enough so I can get something to use, mana wise. Sure enough, the shinning light at the end of the tunnel: my Hammer of Wrath lit up and I hurled it quick!Skyriss fell like Goliath when he got whacked by the pebble. I made it out of the fight with a sliver of health. Afterwards, I rested and rezz'ed my fallen group members and we divied up the bounty.So... that's the first Badge of Justice I came in to. Epic loot or not, the battle will not be forgotten for a while!- Balthesaur, 71 Paladin, Tanaris
Im from a PvP server and Alliance at that so raiding PvE is never done my guild was trying to change that so it was my first time in Kara and we were on Curator and the http://www.wowhead.com/?item=28633] dropped I was so happy! I used it to level 76. ;) Also we never got to BT D=
one time my giuld was doing Onyxas... it wasnt so long ago, and my tankadin wasnt even 60... and we fought through... like 5 mins tops to get to Onyxa, and when the fight started a mob came up from behind and killed me. when they finished they rezed and then looted. the boss had nothing until the last page... JUDGEMANT CROWN! what i wanted, it was great, and he still uses it. a short time ago, one of the 80s in my guild 2 manned it
WotLK ;)
Giantstalker's Boots. Not only were they my first epic, but they were distributed by /random 500. I rolled first and rolled a 25, and wasn't even halfway through cursing my horrible luck with RNG before the four other hunters in the raid rolled a 1, 2, 13, and 24. To this day this continues to be the most epic low-roll victory of my career.
Just yesterday actually, I had been up all night and most of the next day farming and was about to fall asleep at the computer. As I'm clicking "Exit Game", I get a tell from a friend saying they need some dps for Heroic Utgarde Pinnacle. Now if this was any other person, I wouldn't have gone, but they desperately needed the sword from the last boss. So, I tag along. The run is going pretty well and then we get to the gauntlet (3rd boss) and people just start dying. The first time we get the boss on the ground, he one-shots our healer... gg. Second time around, one of our dps gets breathed on and dies... again... gg. But third times a charm amirite? So third time everythings going good, we kill the boss, im falling asleep at the computer and then the impossible happens.... THE BLUE PROTO-DRAKE drops! I'm instantly wide awake as we all click need.. and I WIN IT! WOOOOO! Definitely the most epic story of a drop for me, as I aaaalmost didn't even go...
