It was a day before season 3 was over. My and my 2v2 partner knew that we where on the edge of being Gladiators. We played one game that night and we ended up wining. A couple weeks later, we find out that we where gladiators when not even expecting to be it, it was great :D
One of my most epic loots was getting both of the Dal'Rend swords. I was level 70 when I got it even tho it was level 58 weapons. It was one of the most astonishing moments in my WoW life. I always wanted them ever since I first saw them and that was 6 months after WoW came out. I never was able to reach past level 50 and I never got the chance. Now that I got them, they've been locked in my bank and have never been sold or touched. I occasionally roll my mouse over just to savor the glory of them.
One of the most epic pieces of loot that i've gotten would have to be my Dark Edge of Insanity from C'Thun. I never had the chance to raid AQ40 back before BC came out, but in the few months before WotLK we ran it almost weekly and i was lucky enough to get the one that dropped! I've always been a collector of rare weapons so it was a nice surprise to win this in a semi-pug raid :)
I'll go the recent route -- just picked up Life and Death and it's pretty damn awesome.
I am an achievement junkie and all i wanted in the world was any Realm First! I spent days upon days farming crystallized life i grinded so long i got one level just from killing. The day when I made my last card POP It was the happiest day in my wow life.Whisper after whisper of: Grats, Nice dude, awesome, no life (sad but true), cool, wow nice. Not really a drop but dang that was EPIC
Hmmmm I'd have to say shoulders of Might from Molten core, pre-BC. I had been playing my undead warrior in my raiding guild, I wasn't main tank or offtank, just DPS. Rules were that MT and OTs get first shot at them, and since we had 7 Warriors, I would be last on the list. However if one of those tanks didn't show for the raid, I was open to get them. After months and months of patiently awaiting my turn, and after seeing everyone else get their pair, my turn finally came up. However, week after week after week they never ever dropped, after the 5th VendroStrike polearm dropped, the shoulders of Might finally dropped. I got them, and for a steal at 10 Raid points :) to this day I still have them sitting in my bank. They were my favorite shoulderpads, and one of the coolest designs to me.
My "most epic" drop ever wasn't a drop, per se. It was me finally being able to walk in to the Champion's Hall after weeks and weeks of PVPing on my Paladin. Remember way back when... before "honor points" were a currency? When you had to dedicate yourself to PVP to reap any true rewards? When there was no such thing as cross-realm battlegrounds, and everyone knew each other? Well, those were awesome times.I logged in that Tuesday afternoon, saw that I had finally hit rank 6, and proudly walked in to the Champion's Hall to look around at this relatively rare zone. I remember feeling so "cool" when my friends asked how I got in there.I miss the old days, way before BC came out. I have 3 gigs of screenshots, 4 years worth of WoW, I LOVE looking through them and remembering old friends and events. :)
As a Holy Paladin, I was quite happy when I got Light's Justice from Kara. I also liked a lot of the ZA loot I got, only running it three times got most of what I needed out of there XD
My last piece of t3! got it just in time before the patch removed it (I'm a big set collector)
I've been exploring Azeroth since a few months after release, finding my way through dungeons and game mechanics. Over the years I've had my share of incredible kills, loot, and grinds. However, none as impressive as in Scarlet Monastery. The story: I have been through the instances (all three) too many times to count and have seen and received just about every item to be looted there from Stormwind Brie to BoE Blues, but for the longest time one particular item eluded me. This was the Tabard of the Scarlet Crusade. That swarm of Trainees had been volleyed so many times by level 70, I could swear you could go there and find a few arrows still in the floor. Eventually I just convinced myself it didn't exist and went about my WoW life normally. One day, a guild mate and good friend of mine asked for a run of the armory for some pally gear. I of course agreed and ran her through. Herod's first death she got none of the items she desired, so I decided to just run her until she had them. Well about the third or fourth run, Herod dropped the items, much to her enjoyment. The normal troupe of trainees rush out and I hit em with a volley. As we were looting the corpses for whatever small sums of money they had to offer, she called out and sure enough there was a scarlet tabard. Of course I wanted this thing and she was more than willing to give it to me as I was running her, but I couldn't shake the small feeling of guilt as she didn't have one either. Just as I was going to suggest a roll, some green text showed up in a loot box, a second scarlet tabard. Possibly hundreds of runs for myself and others and not a tabard to speak of until just then. Just then, chatting with a friend, both sporting our red and white. That makes that tabard by far the most "epic" piece of loot I have ever recieved.
My most epic moment was the Invasion of Undercity quest in WotLK. I was confused, so I ran in before the fight was supposed to start and ended up getting owned. I was forced to do the quest with rez sickness for much of the duration of the fighting. In the end it was the most EPIC quest I have ever done in WoW, and one of my top 10 gaming moments.
The most epic piece of loot I have ever gotten was a blinkstrike.I started playing this game because a few coworkers played it. Hearing the way they talked it enticed me to play. After making and leveling a tauren warrior to 70 (my first char, and it took a long time) we all decided to have a LAN party. I was fury, and my gear was terrible. I was talking to my friend matticus about how bad my weapons sucked, and a guildie said something about selling a blinkstrike for 800g (at the time, a good 400g below server standard price). My friend bought it for me after I left the room, put mongoose it, wrapped and it gave it to me. I opened it and jaw dropped. Epic.
The most epic loot i have ever gotten would have to be my Toy Train Set. When me and my guild are running 25man Nax i always put it down so while my guild leader explain the fight, everyone is constantly going CHOO CHOO! and half the raid gets #$%^ed off while the other half are dying of laughter, and the best part is it was only 250G! the only down side is the 30minute cooldown, but the train is down every 30minutes.
My mage friend was crying about nerfs when we were doing netherwing dailies, when I loot a sludge covered object that contained a vile of tears. Traded it to him and he just went insane with rage.
