oh yea bring back some memoirs when we start talking about some phat loot.well way back to the old wow, i played hunter and i was so much in love with http://www.wowhead.com/?item=16848 (giantstalker shoulder) farmed it for 3 month never dropped. but the fun of it was that my irl mate (also played hunter) always made the joke when we was going to kill sulfuron that he just talkd to an gm and payed him good to fix so the shoulder not will drop this time "again". and !@#$ yea the !@#$ didn't drop.well then the time jumped and we farmed naxx but still i just need those shoulder.so the last mc my mate was offline . and then my officer was the lootmaster and he started to laugh hard and said to all of us that we need to pop the champaign because and then bam GIANTSTALKER.i can remember that i woke up my whole city because i yelld all over the place.^&*! yea giantstalker all the way ^^//out
the most epic loot drop ive ever gotten was actually a green i picked up in the barrens back in vanilla wow when everyone was still leveling. Both of us being shaman when a new shield dropped we were excited (was a big deal to us that early in the game =P). Well he won the roll. turns out his bags were full so he couldnt loot it. he emptied a single spot in his bags. Before he could loot the green i tossed a happy fun time rock at him to fill up the slot and snagged his green and ran off to the crossroads.I eventually gave it back to him but the entire ordeal was hilarious
Mine would have to be my disgusting oozling #2. After 2 days of farming, and sending each bag to the alt to be opened since they're unique I had finally given up and just opened the 4-5 bags I had on my main and sure enough one was 'empty' to my eyes but stayed in my bag. I did a little jig and mailed the oozling over I was way happy.
several years ago, the leaf was in domo's chest- allowing me to finally finish my quest for Rhok and Lok.
Barbed Choker <- Sold it pre TBC time for 1k gold, And after that I got myself an Epic mount :)
When I hit 70 on my draenei, I still hadn't picked a pair of professions to go with. A lonely and unwanted enhancement shaman on a server already progressed far past Black Temple farming, I was hard put to find a guild willing to take me on, since so many had long shunned the days of speed-pugging Kara. Needless to say, my gear was sorely lacking, made of greens gotten in Netherstorm, a badge or heroic purple here and there, and then, of course...that hideous dragon helm from Shadowmoon. You know, that Gorefiend quest that every fresh new 70 (or 68-69 lucky enough to be summoned to Netherwing Ledge to complete the armor portion of it) is eager to complete, to get their wicked new headpiece with its three blue sockets and sweet graphic. I despised that thing! It was ugly, and it was NOT impressive. Being the World of Warcraft fashionista that I am, I was determined to make right this wrong. I soon knew what I had to do. Flying out to Ironforge, I seized a guard and demanded to know where a mining/engineering trainer was and hastily made my choices. That day I set out to powerlevel my ore-gathering, and after a long, exhaustingly boring day full of chugged Red Bull, I finally hit 375. But my work was no where near completed. The next afternoon, hunkered down in Ironforge, I began the tedious process of leveling the dreaded engineering. I had heard horror stories of this profession, the points where nothing was yellow, being forced to waste the precious ore I had previously farmed on green skillups that could take anywhere from ten attempts to fifty, grieving as my rations dwindled as I kept on trucking to 350. 350...for those /awesome/ t5 equivalent goggles! In a mere 3 hours of blood, sweat and tears, I finally reached my goal. Standing next to the engineering trainer in Honor Hold, my heart skipped a beat as the last of my ore used to create the most important skillup. 350! Immediately I trained my goggles, elated, accomplished...until I realized that I had to go farm for another few hours to make them. Weak! But even when I made them, my true sense of accomplishment came from sticking to my profession-convictions and sucessfully leveling two professions in two days. I had never done that on any of my other characters. Completing those professions was MY best epic loot drop. :]
probably the most satisfying epic battle i was ever in was way back in the day in MC, there wasnt anything as satisfying as getting 40 ppl to do the same thing and down a huge boss, even if I personally didnt get anything out of it
mine has to be the epic ring in sm library. i didnt even know it existed till it randomly droped for my lvl 35 mage. it was so great my first epic.
I got the Talon of Azshara on my very first Tidewalker kill. It was a good day.
