Moral of the story is Blizz suck at being devs for this bug to be in the game and also suck at upholding the rules they set in tournaments, just one big clown fiesta over there.
For the Echo haters out there drowning in salt, https://clips.twitch.tv/AffluentColdbloodedSageFutureMan-8-qrEbRNladdbPDN Maystine, which is part of the Echo team talking about the "exploit" and that they did talk to Blizzard about it before they did it to see if it's ok and they said yes. Again, Echo did this for 5hrs yesterday until they got it right, if there was ever a problem, Blizz would've stopped them. On top of this, the strat that they were using was known to all the teams competing so it's not like Echo came up with it at the last second without anyone else knowing about it.
Ok but are we forgetting that every team had a Blizzard admin with them at all times during the event? Bug or not, Blizzard knew about it and allowed it. If the other teams aren't as smart to use it to their advantage that's their issue. Ex-Method/Echo have always been about playing smart not hitting as hard and fast as they can. Nevertheles... Not to be a edgelord, but I've always found exploits, bugs or whatever you want to call them, fun - whether it is something like discovering overlooked details and using them to your advantage or something like going to the famed GM island just to see what's there.Tl;dr - Blizz knew about it; bugs can be fun.
I don't agree with having differentiating qualifiers for what constitutes exploits on live vs tournament realms - they should aspire to have the same rulesets, principles, and punishments for both. One of the great things about watching wow esports is getting to try some of the neat tricks they pull off for yourself. It makes no sense that you could potentially get banned on live doing the same thing you saw a team do in a competition. Blizzard immediately hot-fixed the cyclone plagueborer strategy which in my eyes was a really clever use of mechanics and should have been allowed, yet they decide the cancel MD bug is ok when that is pushing into exploit territory? It's this inconsistency I have a problem with, not Echo using it (especially if they did get Blizz's blessing). If Blizz comes out and says certain buggy behaviours are OK to use, then don't be surprised when players try to do them in other areas too.
I don't think Echo should be disqualified of anything, since the bug/tactics wasn't exclusive to that one team, others could have used it to, but opted not to. If they didn't think of that, it's on them, as well as failing to ask GMs if that's permittable. That being said, I think it looks really bad on the whole, the plagueborer strategy is clearly something Blizz intentionally designed to use in the dungeon, but its sad to see that they obviously failed to properly balance/tune it. They nerfed max targets on the explosion, ppl found a way around it to have endless explosions with cyclocne/MC. They fixed that, but ppl found another loophole with Misdirect/Feign death. Its baffling to see ppl who designed the whole thing fail over and over in attempts to make it the way they wanted to.
Well in the end this is a good example of "dont hate the players hate the game". This isn't the first time blizzard admins showing unprofessional and lazy behaviors, like come on, MC bug is still existing in PVP and it's already kinda a meme at this point.Also.. for some of you guys, blizzard admins being ok with it does NOT change the fact that infinite MD is a bug and utilizing this bug to snap plagueborers is a exploit. Blizzard might be ok with it, doesn't change the fact that the action itself is not an exploit. I'm rooting for echo so please stop calling me a "salty NA fanboy", i mean that's the most ridiculous comment ever.

Still no one explained how if MD bug was actually used all the time, how literally (almost?) every run they had some mobs porting to maystine/gigi and not naowh/zaelia at domina... they litterally had issues with this (as far as i noticed) every run and almost wiped for this reason every run. Obviously its better to paddle your "theory", then challenge the question. Laterally stupid hit pice of an article...edit: im not claiming if bug does actually exist they didnt used it, however this is irregularity that should be explained, if you think they actually used this "bug".
Haters gona hate..... Ez Clap
to all the people that are crying about pulling mobs in the mists maze. this is also an exploit, true. but this is strictly for efficiency and the pride spawn. still an exploit, it doesn't make the dungeon easier tho.problem with this MD exploit echo was using: in a competition where it's about pushing the highest keys, you can easily make the argument, that Echo wouldn't be able to complete the dungeon in time without that exploit. this is where the problem lies.it's such a stupid argument to say "this is a competition about which team knows the mechanics the best" when they literally need to cheat to complete the dungeon, because i'm pretty sure this mechanic isn't intended.
