Thank the light!
Less easy gold to farm? More tokens to sell!
I have mixed feelings about the SL mission table. Partly because it was such a shame that the author of the add-on that calculated winning teams (though you had to choose the companions) got hounded out of playing the game by toxic players. Partly because it was so complicated that you needed an add-on (or to keep a list of winning combinations - mine is currently running at over 2000 combinations tried and tested, of which 816 result in the champions have 80% average HP left at mission end). Also that the mobile app doesn't work on older 'phones (mine's over 3 years old), which negated the main benefit - that I could set missions running whilst away from home. Yet, once up and running, the missions were such a good source of nearly-passive in-game income (particularly for those with little time to play). There is also a massive imbalance between the strength of covenant teams, to the extent that I'm only running 1 Venthyr, 2 Kyrian and 1 Necrolord (so far), but 6 Night Fae mission tables (though I don't bother doing them all each day anymore). It also felt off-that the only engagement with the followers was when you soul-binded with them, or ran their quests on your main (before using Threads of Fate for every subsequent alt for that covenant) or rescued them from Torghast. Otherwise, there was little sense of engagement with the NPCs, unlike Legion or WoD where you could choose to have one accompany you in open-world questing. I still run the WoD mission tables on some of my low level alts that I'm levelling in Draenor (or using as my bankers). Legion only for the two classes I still need the Class Hall mounts for, and, occasionally, when passing through Moonglade when my Hearthstones are on cool-down or farming a bit of Legion tmog.tldr: SL too complex, imbalanced, not enough engagement with game-lore, but still worthwhile for those with little time to earn gold any other way.I'll probably not miss having it in DF.
If it was not for the mission table I would probably not be playing the game right now. I enjoy this mini game and if they do not replace the mini game with something else... well I wont bother logging into wow everyday anymore. For those who do not play the mini game well good for you. But there are way more people spending their time with this mini game then what you think. When its gonne well, some will move. others wont logg into the game as much anymore. I will just have to wait and see what sort of mini games they add in dragonflight. If nothing is added and you grow tired of farming the new zones. We will just vanish from the game. But first I need to see what will be there instead of this mini game.
I hope we get another form of content to compensate. This isn't a lobby game for dungeons and raids.
Hopefully they add one in 11.0
