I'm fine with this - happy even. The portal is a cool hearthstone and I'm in favor of tcg items coming back in limited ways - yes, even the many I have myself. The Classic version of the mount is low-res so it will fit in with the graphics of TBC Classic. And for heaven's sake, there were Deluxe Edition in-game perks in the OG Burning Crusade, too - people just want to be outraged at Blizzard for making money at this point. Nothing about this pack is egregious. The boost is one thing, people have some reason to be ticked about that if they want to be. But the Deluxe edition is all cosmetic stuff, plus game time you're buying. Come on. There is nothing wrong with this. With the exception of the single boost, despite Blizzard's incalculable evil, they don't sell performance-affecting items for WoW. Still. And they could. They don't sell gambling loot packs. And they could. The entire mobile gaming industry is there, showing Blizzard what they could be doing with the dedicated fanbase they have - and they're not doing it. If you have no appreciation for the way they're leaving money on the table here, you need to play some more games and see what 'milking your players' really looks like.
I agree with you on the matter, but the thing is that everybody know that it's just the beginning, and that they won't wait long until instauring other stuff like wow Token and payable boosts. Heck don't know if they won't add a flying mount who don't need training in the store. I don't really like the other advantages personally, but it doesn't make me scream as long as they stay exclusive and limited to the deluxe edition. The level boost is definitely a problem though (we didn't have that back in TBC, it appeared only in WOD)...
If some cosmetic fluff in a cash shop keeps them seeing a valuable revenue stream that needs listening to (as they finally seem to have done with drums) I'm... kinda all for it. Some dude on a shop mount he thinks is cool isn't screwing with anything my side, they'll keep adding stuff like it, almost inevitably but... it's fine. If it means they pay attention to their customer base (which greed should) it's a net plus for me either way.Boost wise - there's a lot HATED vanilla but loved everything from then on. I've got at least 3 mates that had no interest in classic but are hyped for tbc. Those people DO exist, the boost IS kinda fair enough.Generally... shout LOUDLY about #$%^ that effects gameplay. That IS a problem, always and needs addressing. Flipping tables over everything just drowns out the legit issues that DO effect everything. Neither of these do.Maybe too pragmatic for some here but... eh, whatever.
Never will I understand what the big deal is with Store mounts/toys/appearances. So what... if you want to buy them then buy them... if you don't then don't. You all know Blizzard IS a business right? I know some collector based players may get bent since they feel compelled to buy them for their collection... but to some degree that is the nature of collecting stuff. I think the community as a whole over the last 10+ years has been way to hard on Blizzard... they just can not possibly satisfy everyone in the community... it's just not going to happen. In any event... I personally think they need to make MORE mounts both for the store and in game as rewards. Have a mount as a reward for even MORE content. Other than gear... mounts are the big item that people will do almost any content to get. I know pets and Transmog items are a thing... but are much lower on the must have list for the majority of players. Still not giving up on player housing as another vanity item that could produce many more rewards into the game that people would be motivated by. Could have all kinds of kewl rewards... think of the almost endless items that could be presented as rewards for you to unlock and furnish your future player housing. Not Garrison 2.0... but rather Garrison 12.0... meaning WAY beyond the garrison concept. Player housing should be a place to show of you "stuff"... and be an expression of you.As for BC Classic... I don't think they should have a store... or if necessary a very limited store. Overall these Classic versions should stay as pure as possible (within logical limits... since "some" changes may be necessary)Peace... L8
Please shove these bull$%^& mounts and the entire in game store up your collective asses. This is NOT what we want.
Jeez the whine in here ...This doesn't hurt the game at all, its just stupid "funny & look good" stuff ... who the fûk cares...What would help the game is putting in Expensive Gold Mounts, so we can get rid of all the botted gold.
Ah yes, content (=ugly cosmetics). Bobby, get your squad and go managing Fortnite or Barbie makeover studio.
