Virtually useless. Very well.
waited couple of weeks to finally get it revealed and its well, very underwhelming...
Being able to use Shifting Power while moving is cool. But why can't that just be baseline? This legendary seems really underpowered. Especially since you usually only ever use shifting power after a big burst window when all your cds have been used. So that extra crit + haste isn't very valuable.
For those who dont play frost as a nightfae, this is actually could be very useful with how you use it in your rotation. Im curious about how it will actually work.
This would be so excellent if we were allowed to equip two legendaries at once. I don't think I'd want to swap this out for my Arcane Cull, but mama if we could equip two...that would be sweet.
What is even the point of adding legendaries that will never be used and are basically dead on arrival? Current BIS legendaries for mage:Disciplinary Command for fire.Slick Ice / Freezing Winds / Glacial Fragments for frost.Arcanic Cull / Arcane Harmony for Arcane.Triune Ward for PVP.I know Blizz wants to nerf mages and people who don't play them hate them because how OP they were first season. But adding four Maw Rattles as new "options" on top of 9.1 nerfs just hurts and makes me not wanna play my mage. The already existing legendaries are are pretty boring damage increases without anything interesting going on (with the exception of Freezing Winds) and instead of giving us something exciting in 9.1 they give us legendaries that don't even have situational usability. And even if they allowed us to use two legendaries, people wouldn't use the new covenant legendaries and they would use combos like Fevered Incantation + Disciplinary Command or Arcanic Cull + Arcane Harmony.
Hey don't complain. At least you have actual developers on Mage, compared to us shamans.
Nearly all of the new Covenant legendaries are completely useless, it's not just a Mage thing. Venthyr HPal one is one of the very few that is actually looking strong, and they may well nerf it. These are just flavor legendaries it seems, don't expect to swap to any of them.
This would be decent for Frost/arcane mage, and even fire if you hold shifting and use it closer to combustion to get charges and rest of cd back. That way you have the haste during combustion and after.
A tiny haste/crit buff after your CDs doesn't compare to a 20% crit damage buff during your entire CD and also 2/3 of your overall uptime, it's just bad. That being sad, covenant-specific legos aren't the ones that should be OP, covs shouldn't have that much power locked behind them.
Why are they even doing these legendaries when they know nobody will ever use them lol
tldr: poopie lego
This is useless. In what scenario would this actually be of any use?
Did they even try, or are those numbers placeholder as of yet?
Great! Movement should have been baseline. And I see no reason why getting this legendary could improve the gameplay whatsoever at this point, too little too late. If we can have multiple legendaries next patch instead of just one, I still wouldn't go with this as for damage and / or convenience there are plenty of better options.
