they should alow scraping of your old leggos for recovered soulash at a reduced recovery say you scrap a rank 4 it costs 5150 to make and the scrapping give back like 2500 to 3000 back I think that would be awsome for those who have to recraft with this bullcrap system
Why do you think new ones don't require any grinding? Leather base items on my server go for 50-300k. They will defo go back up to 300k for tier 6 legendries. So either I magically grind 300k in gold or I have to grind enough leather mats for a tier 4 base plus the new cinder things and once again plead with the 1 person horde side who can craft a t6 in exchange for full matts and 100k gold. I'm sick and tired of having to craft new legendries every few months because blizzard buffs them one way or the other. I don't have that kind of gold. Like I'm really sorry but I shouldn't have to play the auction house to be able to play this game. They said this system would be affordable to everyone. It sure as hell isn't affordable, even more so for new players who aren't sitting on even 100k gold to begin with.Id rather they had made legendary bases at tier 1 that required me to spend 10k soul ash to get to tier 4. Soul ash is a 30min affair every week (or was before it gets uncapped in 9.1). Getting 300k gold without understanding how to play the auction house is not an easy affair. Not to mention all these useless legendries now sitting in my bank. Hell I'd rather they had made legendries work like corruptions in BFA. At least I could have grinded the currency and bought whatever legendary power I needed and put it on whatever gear piece I wanted. And I could always change it later as well. They had it right with artefacts in Legion and they just couldn't take that and make it better or leave it as it is. They had to think of the most convoluted way to go about borrowed power and make it as complicated as possible with extreme costs to the player every time they change their minds.
I'm not re-crafting my legendary for the 3rd time. ff installed.
What I would like to see happen.Either a return of the Scrapper, like they had in BFA and Legion.or.Once(or more) per week you can talk to the runecarver, destroy a legendary and get back 50% of the soul ash used to craft it.Granted this would only be a band-aid, but I think some people would enjoy this. also I think with this kind of system, you will have more people testing out legendarys that may other wise never be used.
Mats are more plentiful in Korthia for those mail craftsYou can supply the crystals to the crafter
Blizzard, please start respecting your players' time.
Yes, you can farm soul ash infinitely, and yes you will get enough to surpass the rank 4 in a couple weeks or so if you are capable of getting to rank 12 on week 1 that torghast opens up, and yes you need to buy the rank 5 and 6 base piece anyhow to upgrade or craft new + the minor cost of some new missives... it still doesn't solve the problem that I just dont WANT to run torghast. For the record I also hated the maw grind so I have literally no sockets as well so for a player like me this is a nice bonus. It's just that the system is pretty terrible albeit easy once you have some gear. I got several characters to the 220+ range and a couple to 225 doing what I like which was the mythic + grind but I'm still a casual in comparison to many.In the end this really only effects the try-hards that pre-crafted their legendaries AND spent stygia on a socket literally moments after the first wowhead post about the initial "you have to recraft these leggos" flood of @#$%show comments. It still doesnt fix the bigger problem that adding the domination socket system wasnt well thought out and the players get stuck with issues like having to recraft legendaries to fit raid pieces if they want the new player power system lol. Yeah a new patch means basically re-gearing your character anyhow, its just annoying that one system always screws over the old system when they could have done like a socket item drop instead that scales in power with what raid difficulty it comes from and you just slap it on whatever gear you get maybe. It almost feels like 9.0 could have been the socket system that just fades away with the new improved legendary system of 9.1 would have been a better order to do things.
Proposal - Add option to Runecarver NPC to convert legendary armor to an epic without the legendary power, just a regular purple with stats at 235. Won't be BiS, but consolation prize for screwing up the system. This would - Allow all the crafters that leveled to rank 4 on head, shoulder, or chest recipes to have at least some benefit to effectively create underpowered BoEs that would be useful at start of 9.1, fresh alts going forward, or if we at some point figure out non-set shards that do not contribute to bonus actually are not as good as a 260 (or future higher ilvl in later patches) in one of those slots.- Allow new legendary items to still be better and the system generally the same- Allow players to use the transmog appearanceThoughts?
The only reason I clicked to read this article is because I thought it said edible legendaries.
"Recraft the Legendary for a free socket "I find the use of "free" ironic when it comes after "recraft". As if that isn't a pretty substantial cost... to recraft a legendary specifically for a socket. Meh, this whole recrafting situation is a mess. Legendaries of the appropriate slot not having domination sockets is a mistake and I really don't see why the Dev Team has decided to do nothing about it. While on the other hand they've addressed the very minor issue of people using the Venari socket item from 9.0 to get sockets on gear for 9.1... instead of having to use the 9.1 equivalent. So all Legendaries of the appropriate slot are just given gem sockets to avoid the whole mess. That exact solution could also apply to domination sockets and just as easily improve the situation for 9.1. I have no idea why the Dev Team is concerned about normal gem sockets more than domination sockets on Legendaries but it's just down right baffling.
