omg iam gonna hate this... :(
Remember folks, they're still very early versions (and beta), and they do all indeed need a lot of work. The basic thing about getting a few abilities/"talents" right off the bat is nice though.
For those QQing about not getting another talent every level. They are alternating between getting a new ability and getting a talent point every level so there is always something cool and new every level. It sucks having to wait 20 levels to make my talents actually feel good and another 20 levels to get that super awesome ability that I am gonna be spamming to make myself feel viable.
erm... the warrior is nerfed.. again.. i saw the warrior talent trees and it sucks... u cant have both bladestorm and piercing howl now on cataclysm... bladestorm requires 30 talent spent on arms tree + 1 (bladestorm) =31 out of 41.. so after u get bladestorm you remain with 10 points..piercing howl on furry tree requires at least 10 points spended in that tree.. u spend the last 10 points in furry tree.. and when u get to piercing howl tier.. oh wait.. u dont have another point to spend in it
No matter what Blizzard does , the math geeks will always find the BEST spec for raiding/pvp. As for the whining , it's still beta.
Looks really cool, and it's pretty obvious that the trees will be changed around a lot before they are done. It was kinda easy to find a good spec, and many talents were, as Blizzard wanted them to be, pure preference. This was exactly the HUGE changes that I hoped Blizzard would dare to do in Cataclysm.

As a prot/fury and enhance shammy the changes look very interesting....At first glance the tree look quite diminutive, but once you study the details, now there is probably more than there was before.I wonder how it will all translate to game play........ hmnmm :)
Gosh... I-JUST-DONT-LIKE-IT. Honestly, even though it's small and it's something new and will probably improve until the day that Cataclysm will be out, I just don't like it. Up until now all the changes that we've seen were awesome! I was like "woohoo! I love Cataclysm!".. BUT THAT SUCKS. I preffer those talent trees that we got to see at first, those long 51 talent point trees which had some new cool talents. Now what? A point every 2 levels? I'll just get bored of it...I guess I'll try to get used to it... or quit World of Warcraft.
These trees are, frankly, disgraceful. I've tried multiple builds and have been forced to take all the low-level talents to progress up the tree. Where's the variation? Reducing the talents and talent points may make it 'simpler', but that's purely because there are less available builds, viable or not.I play a hybrid druid and I'm appalled by all of the trees. Removing Tree of Life as a form spits in the face of the druid essence. Shapeshifts are what sets us apart from the Demonology Warlocks etc. Furor only 60% chance? Are they serious? With the cut to armour given by Enrage Furor is the most popular way I know to generate rage early - and believe me, we need it.Having to spend 31 points in our primary tree before branching out is ridiculous, especially given that Furor (a clearly Feral talent) is in the Resto tree. If they arranged the trees better then this would be less of an issue, but there have always been miscellaneous talents that have essentially been dumped wherever Blizzard could find room for them. Also, to go back to my previous point, I play Hybrid. How am I supposed to do that now?I spend a lot of time on my character builds, crafting point by point so that I can play a fun, interesting and effective build. I enjoy pushing myself to the limit of solo and group play, and for that I need to choose the build that is most effective for me, not for Joe Raider. Honestly, if the choice is between generic or nothing then Blizzard can kiss my income, and the income of my guilds, goodbye.
well, at least as far as blood tanking goes, there's no choise left, pretty much all the blood talents are indispensable, exept for butchery, blood-caked blade, and scent of blood.so the only option left is to spend 34 points in blood and then spend the last 7 in unholy for morbidity.that being said, I'll not trow a tantrum, I do realize that this is just a fetus of the new talent system, with time they will improve them.because it's clear that at their current state they are TERRIBLE, but in time they will add more talents, and customize the ones avaliable, and leave more freedom of wich they talked about.one thing I'm SLIGHTLY disapointed is watching Vendetta/Exsanguinate go, =( it was a nice leveling talent, each mob killed restores 9% of your max HP, but I'll get over it :P blood has other self-healing moves anyways, but exanguinate could had allowed me to level as frost while still having zerodowntime as blood.
where is Explosive Shot for hunters
To all the people qq about 'old trees were better now we have no choice with new talent trees' - you've never had a choice unless you don't care about raiding or pvp-ing optimally and just like fooling around. If you want to fool around, fine, just don't raid/pvp/group with me - i don't need ur 1k dps in my HoR pug. At best you have 3 or 5 discretionary talent points now, this new system is no different. I repeat, compared to the current talent trees, with like 1 or 2 exceptions (dps warrs for example). THE NEW TREES ARE NO DIFFERENT, they just removed all the passive crap. I guess for Americans, bigger is still better eh? They always had trouble appreciating elegance. To those of us that hoped more VARIETY would be ADDED in cataclysm, well, we're still waiting. But many more months to come before release so we can be hopeful.
