Lose the helmet and a bit less gold and I think we've got something going on.
Well this is disappointing :( Hard agree with a lot of other people on here that the cata model was better, and the DF cinematics showed a much more recognisable Neltharion than this. However, I don't agree with the "Neltharion deserved better than just a boring human model", didn't he always choose a human visage? Not every Aspect's visage has to be night/high/half elf. While obviously the cata one was Deathwing armour, the art team could have dialled back on this so his face could be seen a bit better. This armour is just a tad... okay no very, extra. :s
Well, if they at least lose the hat...
Need to tone down the gold and red. I expected more earthly tones and hues over this bright disaster. This just looks like Neltharian put on some Warrior/Paladin Tier that we’re going to rip off his dead echo’s ass.
Personal opinion. Everyone saying "tired" idea then saying they wanted a goth edgy model. THAT literally is a tired idea. I am not a huge fan of this but it is still some thing they can change and update. I was personally expecting black/orange armor or something of the sort with his original uncorrupted human form. Then again this is his "echo" so. Hope his dragon form if there is one is nice. I am happy overall so far though so keep it up blizz!
This color scheme is too vivid and looks very similar to Alexstraza’s. It should be black/grey/silver imo. As for the armor itself.. the shoulders look ok, but I’d def remove the helm
The helmet kinda ruins it. Also it's too Alestraza, they should have kept all the gold the same tint as the boots.
He looks like Ronald Mcdonald now lol.
it looks like he's wearing WQ gear, what an awful design for a main character.
This is very underwhelming for such an important character.
The artistic direction is wide of the mark on this one, I think, for several reasons. The first of them being that gold is a very soft and malleable material, bright and gaudy, when I think Neltharian is best encapsulated by metals and stone such as obsidian, pig iron, brimstone. I think he should look strong, stern and dependable, but with a more noble brow than the Cataclysm Deathwing. And the widow peak has always been a defining characteristic of Neltharian/Deathwing for me. Slicked back hair. And the boots? I think they look too "Jester like" with the pointed toes. I think rounded, heavy boots, (similar to the iron horde) would serve better in this case, especially with iron studs. They're something a flippant, dandy-like character such as Wrathion might wear, but not his regal father, I think. For a color scheme, I'd suggest a mix of Blackrock/Obsidian, Ash grey, with a touch of Scarlet, perhaps say on the cloth garments he wears. (cloak and belt for example.) And maybe a plate over his gauntlets. Again, with rounded studs. In closing, he needs to look more like the embodiment of terrestrial things, rather than gaudy. At the least, his bare chest should show. I think Denathrius was artistically closer to how I envision Neltharian than this model, even before the fall. Almost a count Dracula-like personage. Players shouldn't be mocking him when they see him, I guess. Thanks for reading!
Looks like a Jarvan IV transmog
