My old guild was great, even though its not compleyely around in wow anymore. Im still friends with all the officers and play several other games together with them
I met the love of my life in Azeroth. Within months she had boarded a plane and moved across the country just to be with me. We're actually boarding another plane together here at the end of the month and going to her place for a few months or who knows? Maybe longer. :)
I made a really good friend over WoW a couple of years ago and we always talk about meeting up but we haven't. Maybe one day :)

I have 2 stories.I used to frequent a gaming forum around the time vanilla WoW came out and the guy that ran it posted that he was selling his copy because he didn't enjoy the game. No one took him up on it and I had suggested that a bunch of us play together. We had about 4 or 5 people make characters, but most got bored after a few days, so it was just me and him. We got to know each other better and played together whenever we could. He started to like the game a lot more now that he had company. We became best friends and to this day we still reminisce about our crazy adventures in Azeroth. (Like stripping down to just capes and punching lowbies to death in Redridge.) I finally got to meet him in person when I went to his wedding a few years ago. :DAlmost 7 years ago I offered to run lowbies in my guild through whatever dungeons they needed. The only one to take the offer was this guy that I was sort of annoyed by, but didn't really know all that well. I ran his paladin alt through Razorfen Kraul for the axe. In the short time running it, we hit it off really well and had each other cracking up at silly things. We talked and played together more and more, fell in love, and flew out to meet each other several times. We recently moved in together and couldn't be happier <3They both mean the world to me.
I probably met the best friend I've known on wow, totally clueless that he lived about a 1/2 mile away until we even knew each other for almost a year... while we discovered the hard way that Hpal and rogue will never be all that good of an arena combo, we found out that we had the same rl interests, and still talk quite often, even though he moved halfway across the country!
I've won many timeless friends on WoW, but this one I got closer to 2 years ago. She lives many states away, but our friendship has grown beyond words, we spend most days on vent together and do basically everything together. We have an amazing number of things in common, and we do everything from play other games together like Minecraft, to watching our favorite drama shows online. No other friendship of mine over WoW has expanded as much as this one, and this is definitely the one I cherish the most.
I've been playing for years and already met a few people in person a few times either by chance or romance. Nowadays though I'd be happy to sit in a pub or go to a music festival with any of the friends I made on my first server, or go to historical landmarks in different countries. I'd definitely love to have a drink with the guy I first spoke to back in 2004 while I was questing in Stranglethorn Vale and lost, he helped me out and then a couple years later ended up in the same guild as me and we raided together for years more. Along with a bunch of other WoW payers, I still talk to him on facebook a lot, even if we don't play as much.
A few years ago, back in BC in fact, I met with a PuG group to do a few raids. The RL turned out to be a ninja so i began calling him so. He eventually just gave me what I wanted like a cool dude but we continued talking. It turned out that both of us were gay and I added that to his title. He became the gay ninja, and sometimes gay pirate, depending. We're friends to this day via. realid but he is much younger and neither ever even considered anything more.
It was when I first started playing WoW..I joined a friend's guild and there were lots of people on. Everyone tried their best to help me get started, but there were two people who unconditionally helped me whatsoever, and they are my friends to this day! They live in Australia and I live in the U.S.
One of my great friends I meet in WoW help me get though a hard time in my life, when I didn't know what to do, she will be a dear friend for me forever :)
One day in the middle of last October, I was sitting by the pool that Yorik Sharpeye spawns at, and a guildie came up to me. I didn't know who this person was, since she was really quiet in /g char and almost never talked there. I don't remember exactly what she said, but she said something about that she changed her hairstyle so it would match mine. (We were both Night Elf females and had the same transmog sets on at the time.) After that we started talking more and more, and eventually we added each other on Skype. We were really good friends by then, and we talked almost every single day. It was a lot of fun clearing old raids, doing weekly ICC, playing BG's, and maybe even some arenas with her.One day I asked her if she was smoking / drinking, (we are both 16 years old) and she answered that she does not smoke, and that she hadn't had an alcoholic drink for a year. At that point I just felt really proud and happy for her, but just a few days later, on the 1st of January, when I logged on Skype at 3 am, she was really drunk. It felt very awkward talking to her like that, so I went to sleep. I didn't contact her until 3 or 4 days later, and when I did, it all just felt really awkward.Since that day, she and I have talked once. I'm very sad that she and I no longer talk, because I have had a rough time with friends, and she was honestly the best friend I have ever had, and I favoured our friendship greatly.Luckily, I have gotten a couple of more friends after that, but I still get really sad and depressed when thinking about it....

I met my very bestest BFF playing WoW. Funny thing is we didn't get along at first because I stole his Pally healer from his guild. It's amazing the lengths one will go to for a good healer. Anyway, I would have to say that my "guild" is my family. I think we're still all in the same guild atm, if the boys didn't transfer their toons. I'm not playing atm (I have a game card for February cause I NEED the love rocket) but we have vent, we have phones, we send prezzies for Christmas and Birthdays or Just Because days. Some of us have met "irl," some of us have had a relationship or two through WoW that lead to "irl," some of us now live 3 doors away from each other (that would be me and my BFF). We keep talking about a "guild" meet up. We're so far beyond WoW friends at this point it's silly to call it that. There is about 10 of us that are as thick as thieves. One of these days we're going to get up the gumption, or rather the funds, to do it. What I do know is my "boys" have always had my back. In games and out. Maybe this is the summer for that Vegas trip after all!
Various people in our guild have had meetups over the years, and I've been able to make a few of them, so I have met a fair few of my guildies, past and present. The best one I happened to meet was the guy I'm living with now!Klavenhoof was a shaman within our guild, and he'd joined around ToC time in Wrath. I'd never really spoken to him much, until one day we just started talking, exchanged phone numbers and that was it! A couple of months down the line I agreed to travel to meet him, and a few months after that I moved in! 2 and a bit years down the line and we're still together, still playing WoW and still raiding together. He is literally like a male version of me! I would say I wouldn't need the intervention of Catfish, but there is one guy I'd still love to meet. He's at the other end of the country to me, and when we start talking in WoW and on vent, it's giggles all round. He's the guy I 2v2ed with (2 frost mages ftw!), and the guy I helped when he first started raiding back in TBC. I think it's safe to say we're really good friends, and both have expressed a wish for a meet up, but things have always got in the way :(
Met one of my best online friends on a WoW realm around 5 years ago, this was during WoTLK. I met him in a guild that I joined and I was honestly pretty shy but he was a very nice guy and we became great friends. We used to talk about WoW lore all the time and also two-man the 60 and 70 raids. Friendships like that are what I really think make the game.
I have met many cool people playing wow, even my wife.
Well my story is a bit... weird.I started playing WoW on a private server. A RL friend found a "new" server and we went there. We played for months, they got guild and stuff an i was always like "i don't need a guild", till the day i was hanging out with my RL friend and some of his guildies. One if them told me "why don't you join us?" and since they were ok, i joined. Then, i had the best moments of WoW in my life. We were always doing heroics everyday, got items, gave items, had laughs and a lot more. I became BFF of the one who invited me. Slowly, my RL friends went to the official WoW server and i couldn't leave my guild behind but i had to. I lost contact with my old guild for months, until the day o found my BFF again. We exchanged e-mails and we're messaging each other till nowadays. He couldn't come to official WoW and i'm almost buying it to him for being my friend. NOTE: HE STILL DOESN'T KNOW MY REAL GENDER.
