It still might be a neck, trinket or ring that is still a highly sought after item.With the Valor system, you can easily upgrade that item after the fact.
Doesn't seem like much of a fix honestly... would be better if instead it just dropped 2 items for depleted and 3 for timing, instead of 2 in both cases, doesn't seem fair to the people that do time it... and item levels are already so low in m+ that it barely matters that it would be lower for a depleted key... for the love of Azeroth, imo you actually need to increase the ilvl more than you need to increase the loot drops if you want gear to be "meaningful", because most of m+ gear probably gets vendored/disenchanted... even if it's just 2 items for a timed key like now, it could be 2 possibly useful items at the end of a dungeon that are a lot more meaningful than 2-3 even 5 useless low ilvl ones. how can the cap +15 give only 210 ilvl that is less than heroic raiding...The system went from having to spam keys to gear yourself and often getting a useless weekly reward, to having to do preferably 10 dungeons, so still kinda spamming keys, from which however you will most likely not get any upgrades and that is always extremely unsatisfying doing a high key that drops a ridiculously low ilvl loot and at a certain point having to rely solely on the weekly reward for upgrades which just doesn't always happen either even if you have 3+ choices... and that's understandable, it's rng and i accept that weekly can't always give the perfect reward but when i do 10 keys a week and don't get a good upgrade from them or from the weekly chest.. i don't feel like my gear is more meaningful, i feel like i'm being cheated. Giving more useless gear only for the underachieving really doesn't do that much... However I am glad how often blizz seems to be tweaking all kinds of things so i do hope it will go in the right direction sooner rather than later!
It should be this way:Completed +3 => 5 items, no valor pointCompleted +2 => 4 items (the one no looting gets valor point)Completed +1 => 3 items (those no looting get valor point)Depleted => 2 items (those no looting get valor point)A bit of RNG (for blizzard), but reward for everybody in the group!Now the acquisition levels for upgrade:Complete all m+5 dung (not timed) => unlock item upgrade ilvl205Complete all m+10 not timed => 210 Complete all m+10 timed => 215Complete all m+15 not timed => 220Complete all m+15 timed => 225Complete all m+18 timed => 230Complete all m+20 timed => 235Here you go, you can tweak the ilvl how much you want but the loot system shall be designed that way for m+.It works for guild/group and for pugs. No one left behind at the end of a collective activity, everybody's happy. It's a system designed arround completing the dungeon, and being rewarded for it. It also focuses on player progression and make a smooth difference between the hardcore gamers (last 3 tiers), the try harders, the semi casuals and the casuals.
How about:If you complete the dungeon but not in time the key doesn't deplete, instead of giving us an extra piece of useless loot.No one does M+ for the loot anyways.
They had the perfect baby and are killing it. They fixed PvP just to destroy M+. - I like this M+ system. How's that?- If you want to be competitive, you need to first do PvP and Mythic Raiding, then go to M+.- ...
I swear you people won't be happy unless a chest spawns in front of you when you log in that contains all your BiS items at max ilvl.
man like i dont get blizzard some times they are so ...... No one complained about BFA dungeon loot system and if they complained it was only that they wanted better ilvl loot but making it only droping x2 items per dungeon is just a joke . i wonder why no one plays M+ any more besides the WF players , PVP atm is WAY WAY WAY more rewarding and its not even worth doing weekly m plus any more
It's a good change and prepares well for the new upgrade system. Maybe it will do something for relaxing the m+ community as well. People here are like saltier than salty about a general improvement just because it's different than previously. We don't have to do the AP, essence and corruption grind this time around and have no lottery with titanforging/corruption either. Not being able to target loot is bad but you people don't whine about that, it's always just the amount of loot. How about you go and play Diabolo instead? Seems those devs have fried your brain in BFA.
So I'm guessing this is their solution to fix people leaving and quitting timed m+ when they feel like the time won't be reached or shortly before the time is done? I highly doubt this is going to make them say hey yeah let me stay in this key for a small chance of a lower piece of gear. How about Blizz just make some achivos called Key quiter, or QQ master for those that rage quit, and then the legit folks that actually do M+ can easily see ahead of time oh look it's Billy he's a key quiter or qq master and then they can decide if they want to group with such a person?
