Interesting.
Has Dragonflight still not addressed anything about dragon fertility, then? As far as I'm aware, they were made infertile at the end of Cataclysm, and the Azsuna storyline in Legion made a big deal about the whelps being their last clutch of eggs. It would be nice if this book had mentioned it (or hopefully it did, and it was just omitted in this article?).
this definitive guide doesn't sound so definitive when so much information is just left in the open with no conclusion, so many ''its not known how x or y happened, how z got their powers, how this species evolved, its still unknown who attempted to kill Chromie'', what's the point of this book anyway? This ''author's perspective'' thing is so lame, and its just not only about them being able to just retcon whatever they later, but because its based on a certain characters perspective, we the reader's don't get the full picture, this book series that are supposed to explain things, doesn't end up explaining anything, its just stuff that we can find somewhere else without having to spend money on a book, and the stuff that is new, doesn't get fully explained, we just end up with more questions than answers, lol, but yeah guys don't forget the buy the next book where they will again explain very little and leave a lot unexplained, then retcon everything later anyway
I'm glad that someone at Blizzard remembers that Chromatus exists. I was really disappointed that it never appeared this expansion. Maybe they can do something interesting with it during the next three expansions.
Wrong btw: “The Incarnates draw more mature dragons by the day; and while our whelplings will soon outnumber theirs, it will be centuries before our armies can match their maturity, skill, and might. At this rate, we will be unable to hold the western border in the event of a direct attack.”"Could mortals be trained to hunt dragons? They certainly proliferated and reached maturity faster than dragons did—perhaps they could be used to augment the Aspects’ forces in the coming war.""Neltharion hummed in thought. The world around him faded as the great forge in his mind set to work: Could he build a soldier on a mortal’s frame, but with the scales, wings, and magical acumen of dragons? Fuse mortal adaptability with the powers of the five flights, perhaps? Thus appointed, such soldiers could serve as both ground and aerial infantry; in a group, they might strike full-grown dragons from the sky. Perhaps they could reach maturity in twenty or twenty-five years, rather than the hundreds it would take a dragon to grow into their full strength."" Once fully grown, aging appears to slow drastically, allowing dragons to enjoy exceptionally long lifespans."It takes a dragon severla centuries to full maturity THEN their aging stops or well rather slows down
If dragons come from the elemental planes, why didn’t Draenor have dragons? Every planet has an elemental plane and there’s even quests to summon the “fire lord” of Outland. I’m all for new lore but make it consistent.
For everyone asking why the Codex didn't come out earlier in DF's life cycle: It actually was supposed to (ish), but ended up getting delayed several times for an entire YEAR, for reasons never stated. My partner had pre-ordered this for me the day WoWHead first announced it because I love DF and the dragons, and it basically became a meme for us if the book would finally launch on each new projected date.(I suspect the "leak" of this book's contents, via a posted-too-early product page, that revealed that Khadgar was actually a bronze dragon, were actually real, and the immense community backlash to that prospect forced the team to rewrite that entire revelation out, hence the year-plus of constant delays with no actual explanation. But that's just my guess.)
I am so tired of these kind of lore books. They're sparse, and do nothing to really build on the things we're actually playing. Dragon lore would be fun if we actually got relevant updated information on stuff like the player races, and the zones surrounding them. But whoops, everything keeps getting retconned lately, and these "lore source books" are "unreliable".Just give us something akin to the table top guides before going back to these.I'm so tired of not understanding much of anything modern about the races I actually play.
