I wondered what the heck was going on when I couldn't even pair with people for the first Wanted quest. Rubbish change from a normie perspective, even if I understand their reasoning re: the other ways people gamed LFG. Ugh. This made yesterday's otherwise enjoyable start a bit of a stinker.
complete and utter bull%^&* change. so many different times im trying to quest with my wife and she is just in a different phase... mind boggling change.
This almost makes me not want to play. Shadowlands WQ's take way too long to do solo.
This seems like a bad change, and I cannot really understand what the point was. You're next to the quest, you need to go back to a sanctuary, which may take a bit, get a group and then go back. It's dumb and time consuming. If their idea was that you could just invite people around you in order to do quests maybe would be fine, but the problem is that what if there isn't anyone? You can't ask people on general chat, because you don't know if they're on the same phase as you!I haven't seen any blue post regarding the reasons for this change, so maybe it's a mistake.
Im sure this will be changed...
This is the worst change I think I've ever seen. My fiancé and I spent 20 minutes trying to figure out why we were phased when we logged out together and logged in together. What a Waist of Time, having to go all the way back just to group up.
Does this apply to the game as a whole, or only stuff in Shadowlands?
I'm betting it was done temporarily to avoid having 1000 players on each NPC
This is such a bad change. I just logged out in a random inn while me and my bf were questing together. Came back, and we had to completely stop our progress and go all tf to Oribos just to continue on. Asinine. I hope this gets reverted asap.
It's killing the game already, I only see rage in general chat and guildchat because of it. it's stupid. It's like a sologame we are playing now, more than ever. This is like that stupid chinese genshi game
I really don't want to believe that this is intentional, but the one post suggesting it was a bug hardly reads as confirmation that its not intended either...
The content in Shadowlands is amazing but decisions like this will kill the game. I really hope blizz wakes the %^&* up before it's too late
There's a tooltip in the default UI, it definitely isn't a bug. It might be a feature they were playing around with, decided not to implement, and did it anyway by accident somehow, though, that's happened before. Or at least that excuse has been used before.
This is litterally the same layering system they uintroduced for classic to prevent player phase changes exploit to farm monsters during leveling, so I assume they used the same system for launch and that will be removed later when the servers can hold the remaining number of players.
I can see this being a headache for world bosses. Hopefully not...
The worst change ever....
save on server strain sure.... makes sense to make people go through 20, 30, 40 groups until one is matched for phasing...im sure all of that isnt a strain at all...genius :|
I would maybe be okay with this if it worked with all sanctuaries, but it doesn't work with the zone hubs like Hero's Rest in Bastion despite the hubs being sanctuaries. It only works with Oribos that I'm aware of, haven't tested SW/Org. Fantastic job by Blizzard here.
There will be less world quests done and bosses/rares killed. But more frustrated people who are forced to waste time because Blizzard had decided to go for a lazy design and ruin everyone's experience once they hit lvl 60 and try doing the content which wasn't created for this BS anyway lol.
