Do we really need a new one each patch? And what the hell is with it only being usable on "this season"? What is the actual harm of being able to still socket a piece from one or more patch ago?
I miss the days when sockets weren't RNG nor required grinding in order to obtain. :(
Just give people a npc that adds you a socket to gear for a small amount of gold / anima in 9.2 ... or whatever. In other games it's not a big deal to customize gear. In WoW it's a drama with all these non-rewarding gating-systems. In other games you at least farm mats while doing other content. In wow it's like: "well, just farm *insert newest patch zone* for some hours - or even days."It's so sad to see these boring systems pushed & how the devs still want to use them .Compare that to other games where you can customize skills, where skills change with runes / glyphs etc. Best blizz can do is "skill x does y% more dmg" as rng drop system. Everything is just so uncreative, boring and not fun they produce. Same ofc. with sockets.
Imagine having to grind every single patch the same function for upgrades of the same gear that was obtained before in the same expansion
I would guess it'll get added in 9.2.5, so it doesn't feel like a required grind but still something players can shoot for if they're still progressing as a slight added boost.
Are there any plans for epic gems added to Jewelcrafting? In previous expacs these came usually with the last content patch.E.g. Leviathan's Eye of Agility added in BfA
Farming for these socket items has been the most annoying activity of the past tiers so good riddance if they remove it. People that complained about the RNG of socketed gear drops are just people that like to complain because that's like the most inconsequential layer of RNG in this game.
Kind of going to miss using resource i'm already grinding for collectables to be used for sockets. And also going to not like having to sim everything 'cause of sockets to. Especially rings and using whatever wrists got a socket vs something like 40 ilevels higher.
