The line about secrets striking as a dagger is clear foreshadowing to the true purpose of the shadow priest artifact weapon/elf lady
These are some of the original twitter poster's guesses: https://twitter.com/Queen_Ishura/status/1628303321164570629
I think it would cool if we saw more of Azshara - loved the Warbringers video we got. Always thought BfA did her dirty; she's a complex character who could have had a much more nuanced story and outcome.
Sargeras did nothing wrong
every time blizzard tries to write spooky lovecraftian horror prose it reads like it should be narrated by mojo jojo
I love Queen Azshara, but this feels like a mix of rushed content + fanservice. Blizzard should really learn something about storytelling from other MMOs...
Personally, I think the Queen might be Xal'atath. I'd say secretly, if Queen has a double meaning, Xal'atath will surely fight to take Azshara's place. I mean seriously, try telling me you all don't want to see a battle of the Waifus... Next expansion is involving both characters, no question about it!
Xal'atath incoming
Iridikron starts cannibalizing other dragons and becoming galakrond 2.0, huge massive dragon.we defeat him by steering him into the sword splitting him in half.I want to see this
You know, when read literally, "transcended the circle of stars" could just mean "she left her palace".
What a mess
Nothing to do with this post but... I sure would love to see Queen Azshara and Sire Denathrius in the same xpac,
Could “a dark heart now broken” be tyrande? She was consumed by vengeance and Elunes dark power or whatever and now malfurion is gone. It seems like her downfall has been building for awhile now.
I mean, this is fine, but I feel like at this point we have too many candidates for the final boss. Maybe this will be part of the next expansion? I’d really rather not do only a patch of Old God stuff again. And it would be really weird if we end this expansion without dealing with Murozond.
Tbh i see some flaws and details that could point to these books not telling the exact truth, mostly when it comes to azshara herself. Regardless, i don't think we need any prediction to know that she will come back at some point. She was probably the best character in bfa and one of the few successful ones, being her main flaw the fact that her part in the xpac was too little.Just to start the analysis, the books says azshara has trascended the circle of stars. We know that's false, because we defeated her and she almost died. N'zoth saved her, but it wasn't something she seemed to like, since her expression was even frightened before getting sucked into the void, where she was tortured in order to break her mind and turn her into an obedient servant, but keeping her as the future queen of the naga. Just trying to brainwash her. This happened because she tried to murder nzoth, but he knew, so she was named a betrayer, as the old god himself claimed during his own raid encounter. This means that there was no such trascendence. That statement is false, so it makes me believe that they are writting what other has told them that happened, and that one could be telling a convenient lie. After all, the naga have been one of the main allies of the void for millenia, so they would want to keep them at their side. The next flaw i see is that, according to blizz, the dead old gods would be in their realm. That mean nzoth is there. If i had to put the umbral veil anywhere, i would say that it is a reference to the void realm, so we would have azshara and nzoth once again in the same place. I think that relationship is beyond broken, so i'm not sure she is truly there.Furthermore they mention many times someone called the harbinger. Regardless of whoever it is (someone alligned or allied with the void for sure), azshara said she was tired of heralds, so using another one seems a bit contradictory. All these points make me think that the books are just what the naga want to hear (that their beloved queen is safe and awaiting her return so that she can rule again) in order to keep them fighting for the void's cause. After all, azshara has showed that she has her own agenda. Meanwhile, she could be anywhere. I even recall an old leak that said that we would find her imprisoned somewhere. It also mentioned xalathat appearing at some point. We shall see.Tbh, i hope they won't bring her back just for killing her. Seeing these books, it seems she would be some patch's final boss in the best case, and she can bring so much more to the game i think. For now, if we are going to eventually have playable naga, she is the only interesting character and leader they have alive, so i'd say she is their main chance. They can always keep her as some kind of necessary evil, like alarak from sc2.
NGL It'd be cool to have Azshara around and have a sort of non-aggression pact with the Naga still serving her. We could do little quests for her and she could be the ultimate tsundere taunting us while our rep/renown is low while at exalted she warms up a bit. The Naga are basically done as any kind of big bad, and Azshara already got an amazing end boss fight and raid,
