I love plunderstorm, but I hope they add it without any in-game rewards. Nothing takes the fun out of it like playing versus people who don't want to play the gamemode.
I would like too see them spawn a giant lootbox in the middle of valdrakken you can open daily on 60 characters which has a chance of 1 % to give you a super rare item and the box will only be there for 1 week.Because this is what events in wow have come down too.EDIT:oh, and sometimes the box just phases away right before your eyes just to add some exitement.
Make a venn diagram. One circle is "People with a WoW subscription" and the other is "People who play Fortnite"That tiny area where they overlap are the people who might actually be enjoying Plunderstorm. The rest of us are only here for the cosmetics and because there's nothing worth doing in the game right now.And despite the massive MASSIVE amounts of negative feedback they will probably go "hey, look at that great engagement! People love this!" like they did with Torghast, Warfronts, and Island Adventures... with predictable results.
wooooooow what a surpriiiise...notyou dont do merchandise and a 50k marketing tournament if you dont plan on returning the event in the first place.I just hope it doesnt push actual wow patches further back as it did with season 4 now....I did somewhat enjoy my grind to 40, but I dont want it to interfere with my wow. I share the sentiment that many have as in unattach it from wow and dont make it influence the game and character we love for years
they should add playable Gnolls for retail..and Ogersand Hozenand Jinyuand Arrakoa
I feel like it being up all the time definitely isn't the best experience. I'm getting games that start without even being half full some days. I'm still having fun with it, but I didn't play it to death and farm out the whole reward track week 1 like some people did. Interest is steadily dropping. Which is both predictable and fine. Another reason for it to not be constantly available is, that I don't believe they have the resources to produce constant updates that prevent games of this genre from going stale or predictable. The limited amount of powers is a big plus when it comes to learning and ease of play but long term it means there are only so few combos and so few fights you can have before everything sorta gets that "oh, I've been in this situation before" feeling to it.So having it playable for a bit > shutting it down > coming back later with new stuff for a bit. Will probably be good cycle for it. People will be unhappy if rewards from this season aren't somehow still available in the future but I think that is a problem they could easily solve. I know its being called Plunderstorm and is very pirate themed right now but maybe do something else in the future. The theming bit is really good. Having it come back with a different theme, some different powers, and most importantly a different location & rewards would be really cool. If this was a once a year, month long, event I think it would be something players look forward to checking out every year.
Oh god no.
Plunderstorm is destined to return in some way. This was way too polished for an "event" to only last 6 weeks. Blizz always had long term considerations for Plunderstorm, and they are only phrasing it the way they are because of the negative backlash it received.Personally, I think its ok. I am a PVE'r but I like to dip my toes in PVP from time to time. Plunderstorm was something different, and contrary to what others say, I think it is good that it is not tied to wow characters. It allows for the game to be balanced against its own mechanics instead of against all the specs and classes. If Wow could fix PVP by now, they would have. This game mode gives them a way to re-envision mechanics and spells without all the bloat that is in the game already. I bet it was a lot of fun for the Devs.My biggest issue with Plunderstorm is the FOMO and the limited time event. While I know I don't "have to" get all the rewards, I do want the mounts so I have committed myself to grinding out all the levels. Since this is a limited time event, that means I will set aside time and do it now. I am almost at 40 and I will have burnt myself out on the game by the time I am done. If this was not limited time, I would just play it casually like I do other PVP, and not be so burnt out on it. That is the real problem with the FOMO to me.
All the players' complaints do not impress Blizzard anyway. There, the only language that counts is the language of marketing and profits. So if you want to say something to Blizzard, don't buy expensive transmogs in their store, if you don't want to play pluderstorm, unsubscribe.
FFFFFFFOOOOOOOOMMMMMOOOOOO!1!
I think Plunderstorm is a stealth way to get people to pay to change their Battle Tags. I kid.Maybe.
So Pandamonium Timerunning could be a Plunderstorm type thing?Maybe Shen-Zin Su gets sucked into a time vortex and you need to combat time incursions while the bronze dragonflight pulls it back.No that sounds awful...
I didn't like Plunderstorm in the beginning. It reminded me too much of pvp and I don't like getting killed by players. But then I gave it a go and although it won't be my fav type of event as a PvE player, I found it pretty fun and enjoyable to run a few games, collect the plunder and try to get away from people when possible. It's also fun to find people with similar mentality, people who don't want to kill you and just there to grind the rep and play piratey. Looking at sentiments I think this event is a big success. The only critique is being taken out of the game completely. I would have preferred to still be able to communicate with guild and friends and use my own characters. Overall a great event, keep these cool ideas coming. :)
