AGAIN, have to turn the language in english to see comments.Didn't have to do that like 2-3 weeks ago maybe.
How can MDI be even close to popular when you can't even get close to practise the gear they are running with in the competition? It isn't possible as a M+ player to get 233 gear, the conduits they are running playing that branch of the game, you need to play pvp or Mythic raiding......... How they expect it to be popular? Really? If they want higher rewards, they need viewers, and players, who can put themself in the situation.
mythic plus has ruined the dungeon experience. im ok if wow eports dies a slow death.
Even if you are coming first that prize money is a joke, but tbh WoW just doesnt translate into a esport very well, and Blizzard should never had tried to push esports in WoW in the first place, a vast majority of players old and new played this game because they wanted to play in a MMORPG world. Such a low percentage of players care about esports in WoW it's just not the type of game for it, sorry. Not that i care anymore because i cba playing WoW but the sooner Blizzard makes the game about the world again and unique fun classes the better it will be (maybe idk game is trash imo)
"High Risk, Low Reward" should be on the Shadowlands box art features. That said though, I don't understand where the appeal is in watching someone do repeated content over and over just to be slightly faster. I can get the appeal of watching an entertaining streamer do almost nothing but talk and farm mogs, but watching someone farm M+ all day without hardly saying anything is boring.
I remember the time when World of Warcraft was a game, something to have fun with. Now it's a business, a job, a career. And everyone still having fun will be excluded. Removed. Not playing at peak efficiency, not using the best class, traits etc is nowadays considered a capital crime by a lot of players. I wonder when the first lawsuits start to appear, players suing other players for inefficient game play, costing them real money. A new form of PvP.Farming bots, boosts, now cups... all just a business. And then complaining that you fail to get rich from it... as if that's mandatory... Also, most (sports) athletes don't earn that amount of money, and train even more than 40 hrs/week. They look for their own sponsors. Or have a second job. And they still do it, train every day without any "reward" or future to become rich. So, maybe the wrong kind of people are participating in these WoW cups.
Good. Down with esports, as they ruin the game for people who want to play for fun.Every MDI imposed nerf, every overturned affix, every mmr rant makes the game less palatable for those of us who just want to pay our $15/month and enjoy the game.Let the developers focus on the 80%who actually pay the bills again.
I personally never thought I'd see so many players straight up not want the MDI to exist anymore in general. Why is it a bad thing to be competitive in a multiplayer game? Why can't the players be paid properly like pretty much every other game around it with a competitive aspect to it?I agree with the comments that say the big names in the MDI ( All of Echo and Perplexed at this point ) should straight up not compete.Blizzard gets away with not giving a ton of cash to these events because no one fights against it properly.Take away teams like Echo, PI Me, Perplexed and etc from the MDI, Take away teams like Skill capped EU and Golden Guardians from the AWC, who's watching these events? The players bring what little viewers to the platform, players have all the power to change something that upsets them as a whole.I'll see you guys in two weeks when we forget about all this and I'll see yall when we complain about this again next time and nothing is done about it.
Playing a game isnt making you money? Surprise!
And that Olympic athletes playing for just a medal! So sad! LOLSpeaking truly... I can't watch MDI for more than 15 minutes (fast forwarding the video), I prefer to spend my time playing the game!
It is funny-sad that they don't actually spend any money or effort on promotion of any sort of lateWhen was the last time anyone saw a blizz ad that was for a game and not for some third party merchandise?Heck their store is still a laughable mess for anyone outside the USofAWhy hasn't Blizz made their own esports channel with third party sponsorships etc. They could easily partner with Netflix to stream everything from events, blizzcons past, lore, movies, animation.Netflix handles the hosting and Blizz supplies the content.Yet the CEO gets close to a quarter BILLION in cash and prizes plus all the perks that come with the position. The throw away "Promotion" or "Internships for experience" is just another business practice that is promoted to get something for nothing from the suckers.
