to everyone asking for instant fast travel; go away, this is an MMORPG, not habbo hotelGetting real tired of esports zoomers ruining my game with their "GO GO GO" attitude - Same type of people who buy boosts (Both Blizzard and Black Market), and who demands account wide skips for everything so they can swap mains every 10 seconds. If this describes you, you are a literal cancer on this game, And I'd rather you stop playing than continue giving Blizzard feedback.
I hope dragonriding completely replaces hover-flying down the lane 👀
This soudn good case I sure there be hater how much they hate DragonflyingMostly I worry about the use of the mount once exp end, They let us use it as "Normal mount" in other zone then just waste of space in bag or some where Think of it.... Much I love build up my mount how dishearteded know that hard work building up that dragon mount be dead water in the next exp, Clearly this was good on paper but gonna blow up there face as waste of time if we don't let us keep the damn mounts.
The amount of people trashing flying as it is now and calling it "air swimming" is astonishing to me. Flying has been in the game since 2006. It's not going away. They tried to remove it in Warlords and realized very quickly they'd lose far more players than gain in that scenario.Whether you like it or not, flying is a must for this game as it stands in 2022. If you want WoW Classic, you can go there.
So, here's my 2 cents about the system. From what we know, through the streams, posts, etc. The Dragonriding system will allow you to move faster than the regular flight systems, which means we are exceeding the 340% flight speed. Atop of that, we get a customizable mount that we can make our own, with a large pool of combinations to customizations. They have said that they plan to make quests, daily quests (and likely world quests) that involve the system of Dragonriding. Story-wise, it appears we are gaining the trust of our dragon, for then to continue to help them learn -how- to actually fly. This seems to story into future patches, where we will potentially be seeing that our customizable dragons, will be able to fully fly at some point like our regular mounts. HOWEVER, also have the dragon-riding system implemented to improve that flying for those that want to use that system and the commands that come with it, and do want to move faster than regular flying by actively participating in the riding.I can understand some people are feeling reserved, cause they've been conditioned to just AFK fly while they watch Netflix or youtube, but this is an RPG game, and this expansion is very much in the same vein as MoP, where it is focused on learning the culture and story of the land and explore. Instead of PvP, War, and Big bad end game. We are getting an expansion where no one has any idea who the final boss will be, and sure people may be having their speculations, but I doubt the Dragonriding system will be locked to just an open world. As said in one of the interviews, they had considered, using them through many aspects of the expansion. So likely we will see it implemented in a dungeon or two, perhaps even as part of an actual raid.It is clear that Blizzard, for once is actually trying to shape a concept, that is a make or break feature, a really good and thoroughly thought-through experience for players.
I hope we can use our Customised Dragon Riding Mounts as normal flying mounts too, once normal flying is unlocked in the Dragon Aisles, as well as out in the rest of the WoW worlds. It would be nice to be able to use them as standard mounts too, at some point. For example, if you wanna Dragon Ride, you hit the ability button to call the Dragon and do your Dragon Riding, but if you just wanna use it as a normal mount, you summon it from your mount journal, like every other mount we have. Best of both worlds.I'm super excited for Dragon Riding either way, it's gonna be super engaging and interesting for me.
Ahh, just what I expected when dragon flying was announced! It's not going to be true free flying, it's going to be some gimped ability more similar to a Goblin Glider, with all kinds of restrictions, probably time and distance limited, height limited, limited to certain areas, places you can't reach until you grind out enough "dragon points" to reach the pointless gated "ability" or level etc.
Why do none of the anti-flight folks just.... not use flying mounts? Like you could genuinely just do that, and you'd have exactly what you want, and nobody else would have to suffer because of your complaints encouraging the Devs to keep an arbitrary limiter. Its far better than the Pathfinding "wait 1-1/2 years lol" system, but the minor gold sink at MAX level, being the only barrier to entry was FINE.As much as It annoyed me I'm even fine with the rare exotic/dangerous zones like Argus and The Maw not being able to fly around in. I get why due to the map painting background style similar to SIlvermoon City, and not being meant to be viewed from higher angles. For those really hostile areas, fine, but just stop trying to limit everyone to no/limited flight just because you cannot control yourself regarding just using ground mounts as opposed the joining us in flight.
Good. Flappy dragon fans can do their mini-game thing, everyone else can fly around as they did before. The best solution.
As expected, we'll do the new stuff while it's fun, and then we'll get flying when we're ready to leave the zone. Love it, can't wait. :D
I suppose, once more, this is Blizzard's way of land locking us to the ground for the majority of the expansion while also giving us a flying mount. Make it exceptionally limited until a further patch where you then have to grind for a month to upgrade something.
