if I ever in trouble and need a lawyer, I'll call Ion. but I wouldnt give him the position to direct my game.
I really don't envy them this situation. It's quite bad, but how do you fix social problems like this? I really don't see any other option than reducing the faction split and allow people to group together. To make players stand above the faction. I would keep everything as it is, except that players would be able to learn the language of opposite faction and make groups for PvE. They couldn't enter opposite faction cities etc, this aspect would stay the same, it would be change only for players when interacting with each other, not for NPCs. Sounds like a nice compromise which could work and would keep the world the same.
They've already started sowing the seeds by making the core faction leaders buddy-buddies with each other. Thrall Jaina Baine Anduin are all BFFs now.
Any % of assistance above or below effects content. The amount of times we've, as a guild, been 1% off a kill is maddening. If we were Horde and had, for example, 15% extra haste on a CD for any of our raiders that 1% would've been met. We are not world first or anywhere close and that one racial would've made a difference.
i've no problem if people from different faction can group together for quets, dungeons, raids, arenas and even Bgs (personalyl i often use mercenary mode)what i just ask is to NEVER ever remove/change the lore AND WORLD PVP.let me gank them all if they are hanging out in 5 as a mix of horde/alliance, let me destroy the mercenaries/traitors! ç_ç
"...no real gameplay advantage between the factions has existed for several years."For half the game it was the Human Racial allowing for double trinkets in PVP, and Alliance was huge;for the other half of the game (the current one) it's Orcs with their ridiculous stun resistance and on-demand buff to damage that lines up with CDs, and now it's all horde. And now with the nerfs to secondary stat stacking through DR, the human spirit racial has received a huge nerf, burying alliance ever more. Not talking about the top tier guilds, talking about the overall playerbase.Other racials really don't amount for as big of a gap as the Orc, Troll and BE racials, and while I do believe most players will go with the rule of cool, the bulk of the players who are set to achieve big time goals will always pull the aforementioned fairwind players with them. I know I'm pressured to play horde despite wanting to play alliance basically every expansion, no matter the guild or the friend group I'm around at the time. "Horde is just better man".Maybe I'm missing something but I don't see how they can say something like "no real gameplay advantage".The fact of the matter is that the horde is populated with people who want to play the game, and the alliance is populated with roleplayers, mounts/mogs/cheevos farmers, and people who watch certain bald influencers 9h a day for their lukewarm fencestraddling socio-political takes and commentary a-la Boogie2988 and spend their time typing "kekw xd" in SW general. The worst part of that is that the roleplayers are the best out of that bunch, by a very large margin.
With everything that happened in BfA, I've wondered if they really are trying to move to another Azeroth revamp. In the next expansion, we come back from the Shadowlands and a ton of time passed on Azeroth. They revamp Azeroth and, in that process, the main capitals. At that time, they remove to division between Horde and Alliance, and you become aligned to your specific racial leader (or maybe smaller groups of racial leaders, like Darkspear and Zandalari trolls or Dark Iron and Ironforge Dwarves). From there, the alliances and conflicts are more fluid and allow the player to decide who they group with (much more open ended). Just a theory, but it would be interesting. I don't really trust the current team to rework Azeroth, though, so I am not even saying I would like this to happen. Just something my friends and I have been discussing for some time now. Granted, we also thought that N'zoth would be the one to kill us and send us into the Shadowlands and the goal of the expansion was to return with our allies and.. yeah. That didn't go that route. Soooo...
he is a good lawyer for sure
Improve all alliance racials. Faction imbalance got way out of hand. There's not a single Mythic guild on many realms I play, all switched to horde.
They definitely just want to increase the value of the faction transfer service.Once it gets horde 4:1 Alliance, then they do something to move the balance to the other side, to eventually repeat the same thing. It's a great business model.
Factions at this point are just stupid and pointless. Its fine choosing one for just PVP but thats all they should be used for. I hope Ion does dump them. The devs thought players would never be for a level squish but after a couple of days nobody cared and most even preferred it. I would bet it would be the same for factions.
So... PVE mercenary when?
