Or just do what MoP did: Flying once you hit max level. Or Wrath where you can fly when you're almost max level (since Icecrown and Storm Peaks were made with flying in mind)

well systems are needed and judging things before knowing how they work or what they are is exactly what 5 year old child does.
just w8 and see how they implement it.

Because they've done such an amazing job so far in Shadowlands?

If something is not available at the start, but timegated by weeks of lockouts, then it is punishing for people to play at the start.

So when Blizzard say they've changed and listened, what they mean is that they haven't listened and haven't changed.

They did not listen to you, no. But you are not a game designer nor do you speak for the whole player base.

Without time gating the Uberleet players (in their mind) like you would be crying about the lack of anything to do a week into a patch.
If this is not a model you like, and it's been WOW's for much longer than it has not, then feel free to stop whining about it and find a game you do enjoy.

In the meantime, the silent majority of players will continue to enjoy the game as it is, without getting their panties in a twist about waiting a month or so to fly in a new zone.

It's up to the player to waste the content or not. It should not be the company gating everything for everyone. And most players ask for flying right out, not months later and only on especific locations.

There is no point in flying when you're done with the place anyway. Flying was unlocked for TBC, WotLK, Cata and MoP at launch. They've made it terrible in WoD (which they've said that they would never do it again like that, just to basically repeat it for Legion, in which they said, again, that they would not repeat the same mistake...).

So... at least 4 expansions with it at launch, out of 9 major releases (including original WoW) and you say that gated flying is WoW's model for much longer? Ouch.

Btw, the "silent majority" are the first ones to leave and you'll only notice later when "How the hell everyone is playing FF14 now? What happened?".
