I would buy the set - but not for 200$. Ridiculous, I'm not one to complain about blizzard but this is such a cash grab...
I love it! My only suggestion is to make the pockets 3-d pieces instead of painted on the vest. I love 3-d pieces on gear that we've been receiving lately, whether it be belts with dangling stuff, pockets, pouches, lanterns, 3-d glove attachments and leg adornments, and most of the time they are very immersive bits and bobs and even useful, such as some gloves having a shield-like piece attached to one of them, or claws. I love knives tucked into belt straps, potion bottles would be fantastic! The backpack needs a hanging lantern and maybe some pots and pans. Possibly a compass somewhere but that's nickpicking? I'll stick with asking or 3-d vest pockets for now! Thanks!
Most expensive game on the market, yet actual content is locked behind more paywalls. Go back in 2005 and tell people they'll have to pay base game + each expansion and require an ongoing monthly subscription fee to access the content that has already been purchased, with no offline/lan mode available, and that there will be time-limited content and content locked behind paywalls and often time-limited content behind paywalls, and content removed and messed up with so that the game is worthless without having the lastest expansion to date, and dumbed down so that bad players that make up the majority of their target audience can beat players way above their level instead of knowing that they are bad from being unable to use their spells correctly and being systematically beaten, in order to keep them subscribed. And then add real money trading to it, normally "ethically" very very bad cause it's cheating... unless there's a secure payment from Blizzard itself, then somehow it's not (it is). It would have been a scandal sounding like some selfish and greedy 5 years old kid made up the "rules" in their favor, adding the most obvious bull!@#$ rule of each kind one after another.
Fits perfectly in archeology.
Tying what is maybe the first truly detailed chest piece, and an actual backpack transmog, to RAF might be the worst thing Blizzard has done, in my opinion. This is stuff we have been asking for for years and years, and when it finally appears, it's out of reach for the majority of players if you discount getting a second account. As others have said, this should have been a reward for archaeology.I keep hoping Blizzard gets better, and it doesn't look like it. I've kept hope that the next expansion will be good again, but I am having more and more trouble envisioning a good game coming from a company this motivated by money instead of passion.
@Shammies I feel like you're forgetting Blizzard hasn't been a very good boy for a good while now, and if we just back off, nothing will change. And how can you even be constructive about something like this? Blizzard adds more and more stuff locked behind paywalls, and literally all we can say is "hey, don't do that". In this case the only suggestion is to make this stuff available from archaeology and Blizzard isn't going to do that. You've also made the point in an earlier comment that Blizzard needs to go with the times regarding industry standards, but let's not forget Blizzard was way ahead of the industry regarding monetization of their game. They're not lacking sources of income, but what they are lacking is people interested in spending money. At least, ActiBlizz and its investors probably think so. And the people that affects is us, the customers.I don't understand why a decision such as this is worth defending when it does not benefit you in the slightest. Blizzard has failed to deliver a quality expansion, and so they're trying to make up for it by graciously giving us mounts for buying half a year worth of subscription time, or by roping a friend into spending a year's worth of sub on the game. We've gotten to the point where people are suggesting to just be able to outright buy stuff from the shop, because that would be better than this. We're reaching the point where the &*!@ing cash shop for a buy-in and subscription game is the lesser evil.

This is a Free to Play Mmo amount of Effort for a set that requires 12 months to get. This. is. Pathetic. Don't get ripped off guys.
Anyone else hearing Reno Jackson, "well renowned" member of the League of Explorers, who is obviously depicted with this set, whispering "we're gonna be rich!" into Blizzard's ears?
Clever way to promote the game. Like it or not, player base shrinks. Have to infuse it with new blood, and these types of promos (may) do that. I think mostly hard core loyalists that probably buy multiple accounts for these items, from the read of things on this forum, but hey, what is better than wasting money on a virtual item? Wasting more money for more virtual items!
Seems to be removed from dressing room.
