This is the problem with the community. As soon as a shift happens in the executive branches of these companies, we start theorizing the downfall. Companies, (throughout history), have had numerous board members that are ranking or donors from off brand companies. I mean Robert Corti from Avon Products (beauty supplies) is a board member... I think for more executive-management level positions like this, you need fresh faces and different outlooks. If you keep the narrow focused individuals in these positions, ya'll be complaining for the next years about A-B's games. The COO is the overseer to the day-to-day administrative and operational functions. His purpose is to make sure people are doing their jobs pretty much.
This company was great because it was made by gamers who loved their game.Corporate "strategies" or whatever word they use to describe their cooked up schemes aren't going to make it great again.
Ah, somebody from Google, huh? That inspires a lot of confidence.... hahahaha no just kidding.

What did he do wrong at google to get himself kicked out ? :D
Google doesn't usually operate like a normal company though (where they just do what's best for the bottom line).Google has dozens of failed projects that were really cool but just didn't take off, but they keep trying to do stuff like that while most companies would just focus on what makes them money, but Google has a locked in source of income that very few other companies have going for them that they can rely on while they try new stuff (that being servers and of course Google search advertising income). In truth the Google mentality is good for creatives, which may turn out well for the gaming industry. Now with that said, just over the last few years Google has been changing, but I feel like that has more to do with Pichai's take over than anything else, but this guy has helped guide Google through its creative years which is cool. Now I don't know anything about him personally, what he's over seen, and how much input he really had in the companies direction, but to say the "Google mentality" is bad for the gaming industry is just inaccurate, if he brings the old school Google mentality it could be great.Though Bobby Kotick probably still won't let anything new or interesting in...
So the guy is coming from a position of focusing on making money for a company, probably not as interested in quality. The gaming world isn't exactly the same and the gamers/consumers are pickier. This won't be an easy change for him, and I'm worried it's just another push for the company to bring in more money-focused minds.
because the doomsayers are always out?
So Jay is gone?
