Important things to remember about the LFG tool before you become overly concerned:A. LFG is an entirely OPTIONAL feature.B. Returning players are accidentally landing on dead or faction-dominated servers. They desperately need this tool to assist with accomplishing group content.C. PvP is the bread and butter of classic WoW. Need to keep Q times as low as possible. For the younger players, they love the intensity. D. Many players refuse to join a guild, use add-ons, or use discord. The tool becomes vital for soloists, anti-socials, small guilds, group quests, killing rares, world bosses, daily quests, rep grinds, farming, world PvP, and doing legacy content.E. Regardless pug group leaders will still be spamming all forms of chat, the tool just expedites the process. Allowing leaders to post events ahead of time, makes perfect sense. Less stress for the leader and the pug that only gets one day off a week has something to look forward to.My hope is someday Devs will take the foundation of this valuable QoL tool and enhance it with more options. Examples: optional age/generation brackets (you are more likely to create lasting friendships with people close to your age) various language toggles, player skill level toggles elite, serious, semi serious, casual, newb. Gender (or maybe orientation) toggle. For example, female players can group together and voice chat endlessly. WoW, yeti x roleplay group toggle.Obviously using any of these totally optional choices within the tool would increase the time it takes to form a group, but I believe pugs would get more enjoyment out of time spent while grouped. Quality over quantity.Good Luck in TBC everyone!
this post is a lie and should be taken down you cannot group across realms lmao
have you considered playing the game for your gear and socializing with ppl?sounds crazy, but you can do that in an mmo xD
For the entirety of classic my guild has had many discussions about 'When did you quit WoW' and the common answer is either they never quit or they quit around wrath/cata. There's been many of these discussions and i'm sure anyone who's been in a guild can relate. The average response in my guild to why they quit in Wrath/Cata was the LFG and LFR cross-realm queues. I'm not saying this means everyone hated this feature but I'm convinced it's a factor for many people. Those of you here that want this feature can try to argue your reasoning for wanting them but it won't change the opinions of those of us (myself included) that will drop this game like a sack of hot garbage if LFG or LFR become a thing. This isn't an amazing or new game, retail players are right about that. There are factors distinct to this experience that drive people to come play it again after so many years. Adding a mount to the game isn't going to break that for most, but adding a complete feature that was instrumental in many leaving this game will. Will cross realm LFG bring new players to this game (classic wow)? Probably not; this isn't a new or exciting game. It's honestly kinda #$@% compared to other options today. That's coming from someone who's played private servers for years and been in classic every day since launch. Classic is held up by its emphasis on community not it's compelling gameplay. Adding this won't compel people to come here, it's just polishing a turd for those that aren't already here. Will cross realm LFG drive people away? I believe so, yes because it will drive me away. When people drop my groups for stupid reasons (boss died and didn't have their loot, bad pull w/e) or when people act like an @$$ in general, I put them on my permanent ignore list. That has significance on a single isolated server. I've put together SR raids and had people ask why i'm ignoring them and I get the enjoyment of telling them exactly why. Cross Realm LFG gives everyone the permission to act a fool with no consequence. And that is what kills the community.
Well there goes server community. Blizzard is so out of touch.
i don't mind xrealm. i think it's good b/c in a few months when most noobs are done, the people who still love the game won't be in empty servers and still able to enjoy great pop @ 2 AM On a Sunday.... I hope it doesn't get patched. :fingers_crossed:
Yea.. What a load of bull#!%t. This wasn't, in a million years what we would ever want.
Yes! Thank god this is just a bug! (more likely just testing our reactions, but i'll take it!) Communities restored!
Then don't play if you guys don't like change
Certain People: "I don't see the issue with this."Me: I'm rolling need on every piece of loot. Even if you need it. Because I'm likely never going to see you in a group again. This is what's wrong with Cross-realm anything. Just like how the Internet lets you shoot your mouth off with no fear of someone letting you place catch with their fist. Cross-realms allow a level of anonymity that only serves to promote asshattery; after all, you probably won't see them again.EDIT: BTW, Blizzard even realized how terrible this was. Why do you think they implemented Communities?
Please don't let them do cross realm, Its a big part of my problem with retail.
Ugh.
Anyone in support of this can go back to retail, there is nothing else to add on that here.Worst thing to ever be added is cross-realm interaction outside of battlegrounds.
RIP Classic
