Still a bad system to replace an equally bad system.
I hate this system. I don't know why they are wasting time with it. It seems to fly in the face of everything they've said about gear deisgn and encounter design.
Scrap this Corruption system already, Blizzard. We didn't ask for it and we don't want it.
Not fun zone strikes again
This whole thing seems like such a mess. I don't like to be negative all the time, but...what is fun about this? For the first time ever, I'm thinking of skipping a tier and just waiting for Shadowlands.
Can you see other players' corruption levels by mousing over their debuff or do you need an addon that calculates it from their gear? I'm guessing that corruption level advice/management is going to matter in my semi-casual raids.
With higher corruption resistance, you'll be able to use more corrupted gears. Which will make you even stronger. But sadly 90% of people dont have enough functioning brain cells to comprehend this simple matter. You dont need to have high level of corruptions active when your resistance is weak, just cleanse them until your resistance is enough.
exactly, it's a very different kind of system and it works. 25 resistance treats you as if you're zero, I see nothing wrong with this.
So, by 8.3 we'll have azerite gear, the heart of azeroth with essences, the legendary and its ranks, titan research and corruption levels. Feels like they're adding some form of "leveling" to everything.
Ok, another buff to ranges. Melees simply couldn't have that much of corruption cause of this void radius.
If you don't think you're capable of playing with corruption mechanics then don't, just cleanse all your gear. If you're not mythic raiding then it won't matter for you
So doing damage has a chance to $%^& me over in raid? What a !@#$ system.
Reading through this as a reasonably succesful mythic raid leader, I hate it. The system is basically saying "you make the judgment if you want to do more dps at the expense of extra mechanics."...EVERY dps is going to opt into more dps -- regardless of the cost, but my fear is that we'll waste tons of time on silly wipes in binary-mechanic fights where someone "saw a Method streamer do it with 80 corruption, so I should be able to, too."
