I'm using Steam - many awesome games and good prices
Yes, I currently use Steam, and in the past have used Origin, Gamestop's digital download software, and Gamefly's digital download software.
I use Steam and unfortunatly also EA's Origin. I don't rember why I started using steam It might have been that there was a game on steam that wasend released localy in Norway or was easy to get that I could get through steam and after all it was and still is esier to have your game colection under in one place atleast that was the idea at the time. Unfortunaly EA had to come up whit Origin and force all EA games sold through origin so wanting something from the Need for speed francice i unfortunaly had to go for the incredebly slow Origin to.So love steam for easy of use (and easy achivemnt stuff), hate Origin for slow beeing slow (and not userfriendly in anyway).
I use Steam only because its mandatory for some games - I don't like it and there are a couple borderline games I would have bought if they were NOT steam. Otherwise, I like GOG - Good Ol Games for the classics :)
No, when I'm not playing WoW I just use my xbox, no need for anything else.
I do, better deals then retail on a more consistant basis. Plus it's better then owning a hard copy.
I only use Steam. I like it because it is not brand-specific, offers a wide variety of games from AAA titles to indie startups, and allows me to not install a game until I'm ready to play it. They're all conveniently located in one service. Steam also allows/encourages the modding of games too. =)
This post was from a user who has deleted their account.
I use steam, a lot, because being able to play anywhere with anything free me from the burden of CDs, CD keys, manually updating the games, having to wait weeks to get a game from a specific store and so on.Also this kind of services usually offer very big discounts (event 75% or more) on the game price, allowing to try new (usually expensive) games without the need of a torrent download and similar illegal stuffs. Also steam have the awesome trading feature and recently it also got an private bazaar where players can sell to other players games and game items (like Team Fortress 2 weapons and wearable stuffs), with this feature (and a bit of luck) I even managed to get 10€ to buy myself a new game!
I don't use any other service like those ..
Cool good luck everyone !
Yes, I use Steam for my PC. I plan on using xbox and ps3 digital downloads for games they have on their systems.
I do have Steam installed on my PC, although it very rarely gets used as I had some real bad problems with it at one point.I do believe that it has grown up somewhat and although I do have a few games installed via the service, I rarely play anything that is Steam based at the moment.
Don't use any of them.
I have used steam and other download services such as Origin, and in my opinion, I think they're great. They allow players to launch any game from their browser without taking up a lot of space on your screensaver. They also allow players to buy games directly from the site, so players are more organized. In my opinion, it's like an electronic file cabinet for players games.
I have steam for Company of Heroes. I rarely use it though, because WoW is truly the only game I have time to play often. The only reason I set it up for myself is because CoH was on sale for a ridiculously low price and I didn't need the discs. My son, on the other hand, has it because he enjoys playing the various indie games and mainstream titles that Steam offers. He buys them on the sales as well as titles he wants to play come available, and doesn't have to keep them on his drive.
I use Steam as my primary digital distribution service for my pc games. I choose to use it because I feel like the pricing is competitive, the interface is pleasant and the number of users is quite large which adds to the community aspect. In addition, I respect Valve as a game developer and the things they are doing for the gaming community. They aren't wholly free of scrutiny as there are aspects of their business in which they could improve, but I feel overall they are doing great and I feel secure investing my money in a digital library with them.
Yes, do have Steam, though have not used it in a while.
I have a Steam account, but I've never bought anything on it.I use iTunes regularly, but I haven't bought much from it. I'd say my total purchases through there is less than $50 over 10 years.I have a PS3, so I'm on their PSN, and I bought a LOT of stuff for Rock Band through them. By the time Harmonix stopped updating RB content in April, my library was at roughly 1100 songs.
I use steam. My best friend got me into it a couple years ago, and I love it. Maybe Blizz should do the samething for Battle.net 3.0. It would be great to be able to login to BN and be able to see and chat with my RealID & BattleTag friends, so we can decide to either play D3, SC2, or WoW.
