Chromie literally says Chronormu isn't a male name, so saying Chronormu follows the conventions of male dragon naming...
Chromie had already been stated to be female in both forms. And not once or twice... It's a question that has been answered several times over the years, with the name inconsistency explained as the writer who designed the first quest she appeared in not being aware of dragon naming conventions. She also states explicitely in Heroes of the Storm that Chronormu isn't a male name.Do the current writers not know the lore of the franchise they're writing for? This is not their first big mistake/retcon in the last two expansions, and not the second or third either... See all the inconsistencies and nonsense caused by all the recent lore about dreadlords, Elune and the cosmic forces, or Danuser's recent remarks about all old gods being dead for good.
Yay good for her!
hopefully this ages well when its published, i think blizz should have chose a dragon who is not portrayed as a little girl(gnome) in appearence to reveal a male dragon choose this form. They may have set themself up with this
This 'information' is bordering J.K.Rowling levels of trying to insert diversity into something that doesn't need the clarification.
What! Male dragon? This change my whole perspective for her! I really hope blizz change it… it was female dragon all along.
Good For Her
friendly reminder that HosT is not cannot in warcraft lore as for me, the gnome form will be always female regardless of what the dragon form gender is
I'm glad to hear this, though I do feel like they confirmed it wasn't the case in the past. But pandering or not, retcon or not, representation starts somewhere and I'm happy to see them trying, for whatever reason.
I dont know why they did this. It just makes thing more confusing. Why would she accept being called Chronormu? Why is such importance placed on choosing a humanoid form? Other dragons have diguised themeselves as several different appearances.
RemovedAs for Chromie, any criticism is valid as it brings into question the respect the new writers have for the old lore and its original authors.
It just hit me why Visage Day was created for this book. Without it, it wouldnt be a big deal what countless forms a shapeshifter would take.
